TV SERIES

Paul's recent post-with a Patrick McGoohan film-got me thinking about great TV series of our time. One of my favorites was The Prisoner! With late Patrick McGoohan who was great in the role of No. 6! I believe it was a British series and so well done, great intellectual dialogue & writing! Any other favorites?...

  • McGoohan was an Avenger?
  • McGoohan wasn't on the Avengers-think that was Patrick McNee?

Yes, miss-read the question. It was fav TV series not fav McGoohan TV shows.

Lots and lots of Brit TV shows I enjoyed, far too many to even remember the names of all of them:

    Sapphire & Steel
    Citizen Smith
    Turtle's Progress
    Colditz
    Fawlty Towers
    Blakes 7
    Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased)
    The Professionals
    The Liver Birds
    Month Pythons
    Survivors
    Rising Damp
The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin

the list is way too long

  • OK....many are a little corny today:

Sapphire & Steel - every young red blooded male watrch for Joanna Lumley

These two were left of centre, but good Brit humour:

    Turtle's Progress

    Citizen Smith

  • Indeed, interesting! Sapphire & Steel-yes a little corny, but Joanna Lumley, not corny!  =)

-Interestingly i I noticed that Citizen Smith may have been wearing a button with the classic image of one Che Guevara.

-I also used to watch the English comedy Chef, good humor!
