        <description><![CDATA[<div>When I posted about a recent acquisition I remembered that the actor Bruno Lawrence was actually a member of a band called Max Merritt &amp; The Meteors he was a member from 1966â€“1967. Even tho' they are a kiwi band like most that do well they have been adopted by Australia. </div><div><br /></div><div>This is the song that most people know them for, it got to #2 in Australia in 1976 (long after Bruno had left).</div><div><br /></div><div><span data-youtube="youtube-Ziavyc86G7E?autoplay=1"><a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ziavyc86G7E"><img src="https://img.youtube.com/vi/Ziavyc86G7E/0.jpg" width="640" height="385" border="0" alt="image" /></a></span><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) recognised Merritt's iconic status on 1 July 2008 when he was inducted into their Hall of Fame.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Bruno Lawrence on the other hand as well as being a musician went on the become a well loved NZ actor, he also appeared in the 90s in the satirical Australian TV show Frontline.
