Glad you like them , the Wicked Lady poster is Italian , I believe about mid fifties .
The Kong poster is a British trade Ad , measuring 17 x11 inches ,I just had it linen backed .
The interesting bit with this one is the title being just called Kong, before the title was changed to King Kong a few months later as this poster is a teaser or advance sent to cinema managers in a large magazine style book called the kinemagraph weekly. Posters were commonly removed and used as a poster`s in the cinema.
Yes thats right ,the top was trimmed , which is better really as its easier to frame , [ and a bit cheaper to buy ]
I agree its a great looking poster , it`s among my favourites , it has no faults really looking at it from a film poster collectors point of view , as it has all the ingredients, top film , second to none star and above all a superb image , I reckon even better than the US 1 Sheet or the original Italian version as good as they are , Best Andy
Here s Gilda before it was cleaned and backed by Dario , also just found most dangerous game but needs to be joined together when I get the cash to have it backed
Some very, very nice pieces you have! Curse of the Cat People is excellent (even better than the original film in my opinion) and of course it's great to see an original release Belgian Gilda - many reprints out there. Dario did a great job on it as always...
Yes Curse is a stylish lobby card , affordable too compared to the anything on the original , thats if you can find one, it took me several years to get this one ,the image I posted of Curse is before restoration , here`s what it looked like after Dario finished it , notice the pen writing is gone under the title
BTW the wellington bomber poster is not a film poster but I thought its worth a show,it is a original propaganda poster made to be displayed in America back during the war
Yes, it will be easier if you use (say, a free image host like) Photobucket, you probably think we can see your images but we actually can't, we have to click on each little link - if you load them all to Photobucket and then post the link direct from there.
