Sharpie... Anyone else hate it???

Well I decided to test a theory and believe it or not pulled it off:

Before (notice sharpie running through his center...):

After (there was faint lightening of above his arm but damn fine results in my opinion...):

Now to the methodology - you might cringe...

404 error...

  • Somehow I don't think I would have sent a poster to Texas for Sharpie removal...

    Haha!
  • Nice work Charlie but I think Cusack needs to stop wearing a watch
  • Ahhh...I didn't see it or the lighter spot till I zoomed in closer...so nice!
  • Well I know how to get tape burn/stain off without sanding or airbrushing....  really, and I'm surprised US restorers don't know how yet.
  • John Cusack needs to get his whole face covered with Sharpie.

    His sister too!
  • I know this is an old discussion but I have a question on Sharpie ink on the back of a poster.  I have a couple posters with Sharpie written on the back, most with just a name or note of the movie from theater and one I have has Very bold Writing.  Does anyone have suggestions to get off (? Sanding, Bleaching) and if I dont take it off,  will it bleed through after linen backing.

Does it currently bleed through to the front? Can it be seen when the poster is laying on a table?
