I always thought that the blank space on some Filmways daybills was there for cinemas to add screening details, etc. It didnt happen often of course but one similar example that comes to mind is Teen Wolf ....

Interesting question.
W.E.Smith were certainly printing many daybills from the 1920s onwards so it is possible that the details on the Sherlock Holmes daybill are correct.
