There were some lazy artists with a couple of the full colour posters

(Quote) Good question. I can't see anything in the press book that shows what they are.

(Quote) Yes and I have been the recipient of some of these huge collections when distributors or, people who have worked for the distributors, have sold their inventory. This is also true of New Zealand and there are certain people who ran ci…

I will just give you one general example and leave it at that. It is fairly well known that a huge number of posters were found at the Orpheum Cinema in North Sydney many years ago. Amongst them were large quantities of specific titles, some of whic…

This is the only daybill I have ever seen for Torpedo Run. There could possibly be a full colour version but no sighting of one as yet

Here is one of the missing posters from your list ....
(Quote) Absolutely true Lawrence. They seemed to have high expectations of a huge influx of British migrants to Australia as a result. I wonder how successful they were.Very interesting Lawrence and I am now convinced that the poster is indeed for Australia Calls (1923).(Quote) Re your comment about "poetic licence", they refer to it in one of the articles as using "various embellishments" to attract migrants hence the obligatory koala, kookaburra, etc on the poster.
(Quote) I agree with you Lawrence.(Quote) Based on the information in the newspaper cuttings and the review of the film, the artwork on the poster does seem consistent with depicting an immigrant who became a farmer in Australia.(Quote) Yes, this is also true and very common with Australian 3 sheets. Many have a white border on sections of the poster that were designed to overlap. Thanks Lawrence
Some additional thoughts
Firstly, the lack of credits on the poster is most likely because the bottom section of the 3 sheet is missing.
Secondly, there is a review on imdb from someone who saw parts…(Quote) I will be interested in your thoughts about it. I am only guessing as to its origin.(Quote) Not a lobby card. That is a herald with front and back pictured.Someone had to carefully black out offending text or images on every poster before distribution to cinemas. Seems like a very time consuming process. The words "To a Man" on the Trapp Family daybill were considered too shocking for NZ audiences!Thats a rare one!It would be great to see a list of all the IFD / RFD / Regent distribution films. I'm sure I have a lot of images but I would need to cross check against a list. There is a photo of most of the actors who played Tarzan all pictured together. I think it was taken with Merv Griffen but havent been able to find it. It would be good if someone could post the photo here.No way Johnny Weissmuller was the original Tarzan. He might have been the best but not the first!Rare Australian 3 sheet
This Tarzan daybill is pretty rare
(Quote) Of course there are fees with every auction house and I think it was a good outcome for you. I was simply curious about what the net amount will be.It would be interesting to see what you actually end up with after taking into account buyers premium, sellers premium, additional fees, postage, etc.
