  • 25 is one of my favorite musicals and a fun number to boot.  Shouldn't be too tough, so I'll give it a day for someone else.
  • I am thinking 25 is from Guys and Dolls.

    Correct.

Thinking along the same lines then and correct. Guys And Dolls from 1955.

  • It apppears it is time to reveal that the title of image  # 20 is Fiesta, an MGM musical from 1947. The actress in the image being the lovely Cyd Charisse, seen below dancing with Ricardo Montalban in a scene from the film.

  • Yeah, 25t was Guys and Dolls.  The number is called Take Back the Dress, and its a bit of a hoot.
  • 24 is from the recent film Burlesque (2010)  Julianne Hough in the role of Georgia.  I found the film predictable and boring.  IMO Cher phoned it in.

    Correct.

A clue for the unanswered # 23 image is it is from a biographical musical film.

Great number, but isn't it titled Tale Back Your Mink ?

Serves me right for relying on memory.  I have always loved the musical numbers in guys and dolls.  Gangsters dancing and singing while rolling dice.  Stubby Kay's wonderful Sit down you're rocking the boat.  Miss Adelade's lament.  I also loved that they didn't open it up and stayed mostly true to the staging.
  • #23:  Since nobody else has answered...

Tamara Toumanova in Deep In My Heart (1954)

A bit of trivia.  Deep in my Heart is the only film where Gene Kelly dances with his brother Fred.  Fred Kelly was mostly known as a choreographer and director of Steve Allen's late night show.

    Correct.

Tamara Toumanova in Days Of Glory ( 1944 ) with Gregory Peck in his film debut. This was a rare dramatic non dancing role for this internatuonally acclaimed ballerina.

Tamara dancing Dragonfly in Tonight We Sing ( 1953 ). This film recently was included here on this thread.
  • Cool.  Since I mentioned the Kelly brothers, here is a lobby from my collection

  • Nice Kelly Brothers card. Great clip of this number on You Tube well worth watching.

  • Kelly Brothers?  Now this I have to see!

  •  26

     27

Familiat faces, so hopefully it shouldn't be too difficult to identify these images.
  • Well #27 is obviously Stubby Kaye.  Some searching brought me to the nostalgia channel which says this is a clip from something called The Cool Mikado (1963)

It also said that several critics have dubbed this the worst film ever made.
  • 26.  The French Line (I cheated)

Correct answer for this 1963 British adaptaion of Gilbert and Sullivan's 1885 comic opera. Pity the film was a stinker as the cast certainly looks interesting.

Yes it certainly is The French Line from 1953. The actress on the left of the image is Kim Novak appearing only briefly in one shot in this musical number Poor Andre.. This film was her first film role.

The French Line was a rare musical film that was released in Australia with a Suitable Only For Adults censorship rating.

Possibly a little harder that the last two, but we will see.
  • But you cropped ol blue eyes from 28.
    The Joker is Wild (1957)

Correct and well spotted. Was it the canes that gave it to you?

  • Just a flash that said Sinatra.  Probably the canes

  •

    # 29 clue is that I am from Television origins.

Something a little different this time with this one.
  • Bugsy Malone!
Yes # 30 certainly is Bugsy Malone from 1976. An all child cast played adult roles.
