Questions for Bruce-EMP

  • I assume the ACH without a fee is only for those whose home currency is $US.
  • Looking at the Australian posters included in the latest auction of Australian posters on your website. along with previous recent auctions, almost all of the titles are repeat titles. with very small numbers of rare first time posters included,
My question is do the bulk of posters of late come from the same consignors, and can we look forward to some rare posters from new different senders in the near furure?
  • I had the same thought, that a lot might have come from a dealer with multiple copies….I’m yet to get around to sorting through my next batch to send to Bruce, so some different titles may soon pop up. Still lots of daybills to send off.

    Peter
  • Hoping for Bruce to respond to the last two queries presented previously.
  • IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 7/01/2026 12:00 Noon CT
As you surely know, we at eMoviePoster.com have NEVER charged "buyers premiums", the ONLY remaining major auction that does not do so (and in recent years, other auctions' buyers premiums have climbed to 25% or 26%, often with a $49 minimum).

I AM NOT ANNOUNCING WE ARE FINALLY ADDING BUYERS PREMIUMS, but I AM announcing something equally important!

WE HAVE NOW IMPLEMENTED OUR NEW PROCESSING FEE (STANDARD RATE) ON ALL U.S. PURCHASES

    1) This ONLY applies to U.S. purchases. If you live outside the U.S., this does not apply to you, so read no further!

    2) If you DO live in the U.S. know that, effective immediately, on all future purchases (including past ones not yet paid for), all U.S. buyers will now pay a processing fee (standard rate) when paying for their orders. HOWEVER, there are some circumstances where this processing fee (standard rate) is waived, so go HERE (https://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=Standard_Rate) to see what those circumstances are.

    3) We have added a new way for U.S. customers to pay for your purchases, which involves paying via the ACH system, which transfers money directly from your bank to ours. Go HERE (https://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=ach_info) to learn how this works, and to sign up to pay via ACH in the future. You will only add your bank information ONCE, and then you will be able to pay via ACH with the click of a button through our Checkout.

As we said above, this new processing fee (standard rate) for U.S. customers applies to  ALL of our auctions that close next week (and all in the future afterwards), so do no bid on those unless you are OK with that.

We have added the ACH "bank to bank" payment (for U.S. customers) to our Checkout, and you can right now add your bank information (the same area where you would add a new credit card to your account), and you can do that right now, OR wait until you have a purchase to pay for. Either way, you will only add your bank information ONCE, and then you will be able to pay via ACH with the click of a button.

You all know EVERY kind of cost is rising drastically. We had to add this processing fee (standard rate), because it was either that or add a buyers premium, and we NEVER want to do that! Thanks for being understanding of this change, and know that it has TAKEN EFFECT STARTING TODAY, JULY 1st, AT NOON.

Thanks very much for being understanding of this much needed change. We are INCREDIBLY busy right now, wrapping up our truly incredible August Major Auction!

A reminder since our auctions close today!

REMEMBER THAT OUR NEW "PROCESSING FEE" IN NOW IN EFFECT FOR ALL U.S. CUSTOMERS (if you live outside the U.S. this does not affect you, so stop reading this section now!). But if you DO live in the U.S., know that we will add a processing fee (standard rate) to your order at checkout.

This fee varies from state to state, but is often 3% of your total order. HOWEVER, there are some circumstances where this processing fee (standard rate) is completely waived, so go HERE https://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=Standard_Rate to see what those circumstances are.

But if you are someone who lives in the U.S. and will need to pay the fee, do not bid on these items if you are not willing to pay the fee if needed. Please go to the above page to learn how this works, and if you would like to pay directly from your bank to ours, go to https://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=ach_info to learn how our new ACH bank to bank payment system works.

  • Curious why you are not passing this onto the consignors. This doesn’t seem like the buyer’s-best-friend version of Bruce that we have all come to love.

Cost of doing business IMO. But since you changed your auctions, I still never know when they start and end.

Not the buyer I once was, so not much leverage to complain.

  • It is SO incredibly easy to get the fee waived. Just send a check or set up bank to bank transfer.

No reason you ever need to pay it!

  • True. Maybe we are old school but the wife and I share our checking. AND even though we pay my credit card off every month, I like it that the wife doesn’t get to see “$$$$ - emovieposter” and then I have to answer question about what I bought. 😂

So maybe you should consider a new buyer service - For $5 per transaction we will ensure that instead of “emovieposter” your bank account will show “transfer to savings”.

Emovieposter.com -> saving marriages one hidden poster at a time.

  • You can now view a COMPLETE preview gallery of EVERY one of the 724 GREAT items in our AUGUST MAJOR AUCTION that starts Sunday, July 19th at this link: https://www.emovieposter.com/online/previews/20260719august/gallery/

This is a complete preview gallery of ALL of the 724 posters (U.S., non-U.S., non-movie), lobby cards, and much MORE that starts July 19th! Each thumbnail image in this gallery links to a single supersized version of that image). The gallery includes the auction title, including the lot numbers, so you can see the exact order in which they will be auctioned. It also includes the exact overall condition grade that is on each auction.

What this complete preview gallery DOESN'T include is all the images from each auction, and you CAN'T read the written condition information about each item's condition (or the film's description) until the items go "live" on the 19th. Of course that info will be included in the actual auctions! But by seeing the "super-sized" images and the overall grade you have much information about the the exact condition of each item long in advance of the auction, so you can better prepare your bidding strategy when the auctions go live (starting at 3 PM CST on the 19th).

So between now and Sunday the 19th at 3 PM CT (when the entire auction goes "live"), PLEASE spend some of that time looking over this wonderful preview gallery, and then you will be more prepared to check them all out Sunday when they go live!

I KNOW for certain that this auction is PACKED with lots of extreme rarities and highly desirable items of EVERY kind, and I believe it is absolutely the finest movie and poster auction held anywhere, EVER!

And yet, unlike EVERY other major auction, EVERY item will have a new owner come August 9th, no ifs, ands, buts (or buyers premiums)!

  • The finest ever! - that's a big claim. I don't know about that but it's in your top 10 for sure.
  • A great selection, but this auction is lacking in having very little Australian poster content, though this being no fault of Bruce,
The very rare beautiful Gulliver's Travels long daybill being the stand out of the six Australian listed titles. This is only the second image of this  daybill poster design that I am aware of. It is a different copy and not the same poster as the image that I had sourced many years ago.

  • Something for Rick!

Maybe someday I will get a great Aussie consignment. But I have zero control over that!

One can only hope that an impressive consignment, or consignments do surface sometime in the future.
  • I bought one years ago at one of the Bill Collins Christies auctions.

    This is the poster then?_

  • Because our incredible August Major Auction ends VERY soon (the 9th), we want to remind all of you who might be considering bidding on expensive items of both our "Layaway Plan" and also our "Consignment Offset Plan"! Here is how they work.

For the "Layaway Plan", we often get collectors who contact us and say "I would be willing to bid on a certain expensive item, but, if I win, I can't pay the full price immediately, but I could raise the money". For those people we developed our "Layaway Plan", in which the item (or items) need to be a total of $1,500 or more.

Right after you win, you need to pay one-third down. Then, you can take up to 30 days to pay the second third, and up to 60 days to pay the final third, but you MUST have it all paid for within 60 days of the auction(s) close.

And unlike every other auction we charge NO interest at all, AS LONG AS you pay it all off within the 60 days. This is especially great for collectors who don't want to have to start raising the money until after they find out if they won it or not!

For the "Consignment Offset Plan", we also get collectors who contact us and say "I would be willing to bid on a certain expensive item but, if I win, I would raise the money by selling items from my collection, and I don't want to sell those items unless I know for sure that I have won what I was bidding on".

For those people we developed our "Consignment Offset Plan", which allows you to win an expensive item and ONLY THEN send us consignment items that will yield what you owe or greater.

We charge no interest on the balance owed, and auction the consigned items and use the proceeds (after commissions) to pay for the poster(s) you purchased. But you MUST send enough value to cover what you owe, and you must send those items right after the auctions that you won have ended.

SO ALL BIDDERS SHOULD BEAR THESE STRATEGIES IN MIND BEFORE YOU PLACE BIDS, BECAUSE IT MAY ALLOW YOU TO BID ON ONE OR MORE ITEMS THAT YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD NOT AFFORD (because you needed to pay in full after the auctions ended).

  • A couple of good options there. I might use to get some one sheets for The Sheik (or perhaps not!).
