Just read an article about Slack, a PC, app etc program which is basically a 'group chat' program.

For me it will be good because I will be able to add in my cycling friends and then we can leave messages etc for all when needed, usually this is an announcement about the next ride. Beats email.

Sound similar to google hangouts although i coulld no tell you the differences
