Yes. Very good Paul. The statue of Bobby the skye terrier in Edinburgh, Scotland. If anyone is not familiar with the story look it up on the web. It is a very moving story.
Yes it is Orangey. Here he is from a scene from Breakfast At Tiffany's as Cat in his full colour glory.
The black and white photo in question though was from his title role in the 1951 film Rhubarb where he was unbilled in the film. For any cat lovers or even non cat lovers I suggest you look him up on Wikipedia. Only cat ever to have won two Patsy awards, the animal actors's version of the Oscar awards
Also appeared in This Island Earth,The Incredible Shrinking Man, The Comedy Of Terrors and Village Of The Giants.
Orangey in Village Of The Giants showing how versatile he was in plating every type of role from docile as in The Comedy Of Terrors and Breakfast at tiffany's to menacing in Village Of The Giants and The Incredible Shrinking Man. No wonder he walked away with two Patsys.
For those who are not aware of the story I suggest you go to Wikipedia and check out Lipizzan.
In a condensed version in 1945 1,200 horses including 375 prized Lipazzans were rescued from the Germans under the instructions of General Patton by the U.S. army after learning the safety of the prized Lipazzans was being threatened by the advancing Soviet army which might have slaughtered the animals for horse meat had it captured the facility where the horses were being held. The rescue operation was called '' Operation Cowboy'' and once liberated American soldiers began riding, trucking and herding the horses 35 miles to safety.
Orangey from the television series Our Miss Brooks with Eve Arden. He appeared in a number of episodes. Orangey had a 15 year career and won two awards which is a much more than a lot of human actors can accomplish.
