Trade Ads From Everyones and Film Weekly

The centrefold lift out from Everyone's and Film Weekly Australian exhibitors magazines from the 20s and 30s are often better than the posters. When Bruce auctioned a few recently the description said .....

".....this fantastic ad can be matted or framed for little money and makes a great inexpensive display that would rival most posters on the movie!"

I agree. The magazines are incredibly rare and I think the centerfolds are very underrated. I know of some that have been linen backed. I would be interested to see if anyone has any images that they can post. Here's one that Iike ...

  • I agree completely. I dream of getting a large collection of these to auction.

I think collectors needlessly differentiate between trade ads and posters. Look at the Bride of Frankenstein pressbook. Either cover can be framed and displayed, and either would be just as impressive as a poster from the movie, and at a fraction of the cost.

And it is not like there are lots of these trade ads out there!
