My Film poster t shirt collection- an ongoing labour of love!

OK so I work in printing, so this was a bit of a busmans holiday for me initially and it sort of grew, and grew to the extent that film buffs from everywhere come to me if they want their favourite film poster putting onto a t shirt or long sleeved shirt. The more unusual or obscure the film, the bigger buzz I get! ;-) I was watching one of my all time favourite films, Get Carter the 1971 British classic thriller starring Michael Caine, a film I've seen so many times but never tire of. Basically, I wanted a t shirt and I knew how to make one, so the next day I did not one but two Get Carter t shirts in black.
The first was from a pretty basic UK poster image with Carter holding the infamous shot gun and the film title, then I got a little more ambitious and tried a full poster print, an original UK 1971 cinema poster, the artwork was very early 1970's and the thing that worried me a little was the fine bill matter wording in the poster, but hey, I was experimenting so what did I have to lose by trying it out? ;-)
And these were the results and to say I was happy with them was a little understatement!
My personal favourites are horror, B Movie, Film Noir and any pre 1970 posters, the earlier ones are quite magnificent, the films may have been in black and white but the cinema posters certainly weren't and gave the vast cinema audiences of the time an idea of what their favourite black and white characters would look like if they were right there in front of them, I doff my cap to each and every person who was involved in producing those posters all those years ago.
Hopefully I will be able to add daily to this thread, it will take me a while to get the whole collection on here as I'm by no means a web techno wizard! ;-) And, without this turning into an advert, if anyone wants any of these shirts or has a favourite that they would like made into a shirt then please get in touch, I would be more than happy to help.
So, here are the first couple of shirts, the classic Michael Caine and Get Carter.
Are those images too large? If so I can reduce any future uploads.
thanks

Good work Pauly!
"There NEVER was a woman like Gilda"!! A beauty in every respect, both Rita Hayworth and the fabulous 1946 cinema poster. This one used a quite stunning image of Rita Hayworth as Gilda alongside Glenn Ford as Johnny Farrell in the film .
Again, I did this one in black, I can also use white or grey shirts but for this one, and so many of the real vintage posters as it really brings the colour out of the print, and stands out much better.
Like so many of the posters from the age the film star was shown smoking on the artwork, just wouldn't happen today would it? but in those days it was uber cool, which is why so many of the posters focus on it.
As someone who has tried to quit too many times to mention it doesn't bother me, but modern day doctored versions of old posters just don't have the same effect, especially when you know what the original looks like!
OK so Barbarella is never going to win any prizes for a thinking man's film award, but who needs to think when Jane Fonda is on this type of form? ;-) It remains a Science Fiction Fantasy Classic and the posters for it are many. The one I chose for the t shirt was one of the more basic ones with just the image of Barbarella with the groovy psychedelic style background, with the legend " See Barbarella do her thing" This used my favourite Barbarella shot and the colouring was fantastic for printing.
Amongst the other Barbarella posters showed the difference between what certain countries allowed to show in their film posters. I've posted the French and Italian versions of what is virtually the same poster, can you spot what the naughty Italians had in theirs that was different?!!
WHO CAN SAVE THE UNIVERSE?
They are going to suck a hole in our wallet with all the server space you are using. We'd prefer if you use an image hosting service like Photobucket (which is free) and then hotlink to the site/your post, it is very simply, almost everyone here has no problems using it (except our resident plumber and resident journo)

I'd 100% agree with that - my fav T-Shirts are my poster ones!
