Website issues

Up until recently, I had been adding listings to my website on a daily basis. However, a couple of weeks ago, I was informed that the company that built and hosts my site has gone into liquidation leaving hundreds of businesses in the lurch. I am looking at various options to move forward. Unfortunately, it looks like it will be a very expensive and time consuming exercise to move everything and probably completely change the operating system (CMS).

In the meantime, the site will continue to operate as usual and I will start loading more posters soon.

  • Sorry to hear john. Hope all goes well during the transition. I guess ebay provides some level of backup in the interim.
  • Oh dear, that's not good!
  • Oh bugger. ..sorry to hear that.
  • Thanks guys. I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and pay to get it sorted. Its really quite devastating because it took a huge amount of work to get the site redesigned and mobile friendly, etc.
  • just give all your posters to me, problem solved
  • Now now, don't be greedy...John, you don't have to give me your posters while you are sorting them out.

I will gladly store them for you until things are sorted out...however, I must mention up front, things are a bit disorganized at the moment, so there is an ever so small chance of 1 or 200 being misplaced ;)

  • Well thanks Rick and Ves for the offer! Not quite ready to throw in the towel at the moment although I did think about getting Bruce to send his fleet of trucks over. In the meantime, back to listing RKO daybills ........
  • That sucks...
  • Listing RKO daybills must be fun.
  • I have heard similar stories many, many times. It certainly doesn't make it any less painful, however.

Here's hoping it is not as bad as you think, and that you will have at least a partial solution.

    Best of luck!

  • Many thanks Bruce. It can be sorted out but it is going to cost a fairly significant amount of money which is not good considering I only had the site rebuilt 18 months ago.
