Little Boy Lost ( 1953 ) Daybill

Three daybill posters of Little Boy Lost ( 1953 ). The original daybill poster was designed by Richardson Studio. For a film that wasn't a huge box office success I am wondering why there were two more daybills  produced  at a later date and when did this happen ? I would have thought one subsequent poster would have sufficed as I don't believe the film would have been officially re-released in Australia. Any thoughts on why there were three daybills printed for a such minor title ? I have a thought but I will wait to see what other members may have to say first.

  • no idea, but the first one is a nice poster. I have the second version, but again no idea about its origins.
  •  The only other stock Paramount posters I have ever found in the above Little Boy Lost daybill format are the above The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance  & Houdini posters. Although printed in Australia notice the three posters in this style appear to have been printed for use in New Zealand. If anyone has any of these three daybill posters with Australian censorship ratings on them or have any other images of any other film titles printed in this style, with or without Australia censorship ratings on them, please let me know ?

Has your Little Boy Lost poster have any Australian censorship rating on it ?
  •  Just found is One Night With You, which is definitely a re-release and from the Richardson Studio, is another example of the style of the previous three daybills, and again without the Australian censorship rating on it.
  • i've got another reissue Houdini in a duotone style

Would you please post images of the two daybills you refer to when you have time ? Would be most appreciated Rick.
  • Here's Houdini. i had a spare that sold for $50 or so. My Little Boy Lost is the same as the one in the middle.

  • Thanks for the Houdini image Rick. I assume then that the Little Boy Lost poster is minus any Australian Censorship Rating then ?

  • i'd have to find it to check
