Let George Do It ( 1938 ) & Tall Timbers ( 1937 )

1953 re-release daybill poster of Tall Timbers ( 1937 ) and the 1953 re-release daybill and 1953 re-release Australian one sheet of Let George Do It (1938 ). The Australian Women's Weekly 3 June,1953 re-release details, as shown above, is the proof. To support this the style of the BEF logo is 1950's and the printer F. Cunninghame being the printer would also confirm 1950's. The Australian one sheet of Let George Do It, has Cinesound re-presents printed on the poster as well. Up to now these posters have been credited as being a mixture of original 1930's, 1940's RR and 1950's RR, depending on which source you looked off. The 1953 re-release of these two films is also backed up by numerous Cinema advertisements found in classified advertisements placed during 1953. 0

Here is what the original daybill might look like, noting the artwork is by Frank Tyler (from the NFSA):
That is the same type of study that I've seen before. Is only in about quarter scale.
For an Australian one sheet of The Sea Around Us ( 1953 ) then. I have never seen an Australian one sheet image of this title, but the drawing above certainly is similar to the Australian daybill image.
Also for sale right now.
Poor hubby ...
The veiled history behind the Australian cinema industry is slowly being uncovered.
