Gene Autry Slow Off The Mark In Australia

 I found the following information published in a newspaper on 31 May, 1938 promoting the World premiere in Australia of the Australian film Let George Do It supported by Springtime In The Rockies very interesting. Springtime In The Rockies released in the U.S.A. in 1937 was the first Gene Autry film to have been released in Australia. Gene Autry between 1934 and 1937 had made 23 films and Springtime In The Rockies was the 22nd of these and the first to hit our shores. An extreme example of delayed releases in Australia for Gene Autry films is that The serial The Phantom Empire from 1935 only received a first release in Australia in the late 1940's.
