Amex Fees
Here in Australia (and one imagines this is being rolled out internationally) you all might be interested to know the American Express have reduced significantly their merchant fees (almost halved them!).
Effective from July 1st they have a two tiered charging.
As a business that has never charged or passed on credit card fees it won't affect our customers. As a consumer you should avoid being ripped off by those who charge you more.
Effective from July 1st they have a two tiered charging.
- Merchants who do NOT pass on the fees to the customer will be charged a flat 1.5%
- Those who DO pass on the fees to the customer will be charged 2.75%
