Belle de Jour ( 1967 ) Daybills

Belle de Jour ( 1967 ) daybill advertised in the past on eBay, The seller mentioned '' I have never seen this poster before''. I haven't see this version either, and it has to be a rare daybill produced for the first release in Australia in the late 1960's. The newspaper advertisement is from the original release in Canberra in 1969. Notice the Catherine Deneuve image is of the same pose as on the daybill. 




                                                                                                        
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                To this point of time it has been thought the above Blake -Roadshow poster was the original daybill poster and the Filmway's version a post 1971 re-release.
It now appears to me that the Blake release was the original late 1960's first release, followed by the Blake -Roadshow release, possibly, due to the censorship rating, in 1970 or 1971. Finally the Filmways version from a post 1971 re-release.
The last two posters have been around for many years but as mentioned earlier the Blake design is very rare and very collectible and it was priced accordingly when advertised for sale previously. The two latter daybill versions have been around for many years and seemingly plentiful.
