  • So I was poking around the net and looked up "printing museums"... Well, I'll be tickled if there isn't one here in Houston. And... They give classes on stone lithography... Lucky me!
  • lol!

    Your new career beckons
  • Take pics!
  • I've been lucky enough in my education to do a great deal of this — both aluminum plate and stone litho. It's difficult these days to find opportunities to do stone litho, because (to my understanding) they don't quarry the stones like they used to, and the ones that are available for sale these are profoundly expensive. When I was an undergrad, my buddy accidentally dropped a 20X36 stone when we were removing it from the press and it shattered into several pieces. The stones are so precious that we took the pieces and kept making prints with them! The best part of the process is when you get to use metal shavings to grind your old image off the stone and get it ready for the next one.
  • Cool story. I hope you'll stick around. You should post what you're buying for the show on the acquisitions page...
