Well I replaced my stolen Hour Before the Dawn Aussie with a US OS.  Now I have replaced my stolen Lost Weekend US OS with an Aussie.  Maybe it balances out somehow :s

One day they HAVE to surface.  Can't say I've seen crapload of Hour Before the Dawn Aussie OS on the market over the years!

Great that you went after and picked up another copy of this one (better Aussie version too :D )
  • Nice ones!
  • Well done Chris!
  • I am surprised that, in a forum for movie poster collectors, so few her post images of purchases!

    Is this because:
    1) You are not buying right now?
    2) You don't want to share what you bought?
    3) You don't think others would find what you got interesting?
    or something else?

I would think most active collectors get SOMETHING almost every month. Or am I wrong?

  • I'm not buying right now really.
  • I don't have time to open packages... Yours is still leaning in the foyer. I opened about 6 the other day but didn't have time to snap the photos.
  • I've spent the last year renovating, installing picture rails, etc, now I need to find the time to get things framed and up on the walls. I fear it could take all year!

  • Here we go! Big thanks to @Lex for getting this one to me. Brit Robertson was so good in this and then just disappeared.

  • Here are some others new ones:

  • Got some super cool brass paperweights!

    Some stills:

  • Great stuff! Somebody got a few spare minutes to crack open poster tubes.  :)
  • I've basically stopped buying from overseas due to the post cost/uncertainty and nothing much of great interest has come up to buy locally. Likewise, I haven't been clearing out many spares. Combined with no overseas travel, my bank account is probably happy but then it makes virtually no interest!
  • Those are some sweet pickups! So many to comment on! Comic Art, Jungle Cruise & Democracy are extra excellent!
  • I’m still cataloging it all but yesterday I purchased a huge lot of memorabilia from the estate of Charles Stewart who was a prop master for films like Pirates of the Caribbean, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Rudy, Heat…

The craziest is that after I purchased the lot, his widow and an Assistant Prop Master herself gifted my daughter a prop coin from Pirates!!! At this point you probably think I am joking. My daughter’s cute little face gets so much attention!!!

In a brilliant memory now, she explained, over her dining table, how the film only shows the coins with heads and that in order to get the shot they cut 3 coins in half and placed something on the back for post shot cgi… If you remember the scene where the coin flips and lands in the chest, it has two heads (skull side). The real coins made in London have a tail side. She explained that they made three so she didn’t have to fish around for dropped coins etc.

Too freaking unbelievable… Immediate family heirloom.

  • Bloody awesome, Charlie!! Sounds like you found a treasure!!!
  • Hopefully not a curse...
  • Very cool story & prop!
  • Haven’t collected much lately but here’s 2 I managed to get in last yr or so.

  • Great story and prop, Charlie, and beautiful posters, Mark! Well done!!
  • Aztec gold... I love the first Pirates movie, what a cool prop. Please share if you got any other cool memorabilia from the films.
  • I'm not buying much as the stuff I want just isn't there, or it's silly money...  plus I don't know how to post pics..

What do you know, I can post pics...  Here's two newish Non-Quad lobby's I bought a few months back.
  • And just to show I'm still on track...

  • Some cool and varied pickups, Paul! Nicely done!
  • Oh loving that Abbott and Costello!
  • I was annoyed at missing a set of these a while ago...will have to make do with just the one:

Also added the daybill to my one sheet.

  • Very pretty DB, Ves. I don’t get out much and am not familiar with the first one. What's it from?

    Heya Handsome...sorry I didn't see this earlier.
Its for a not widely known but bit of culty film Ghosts of the Civil Dead.
It features Nick Cave (which I think has something to do with it ;) )

And apologies to everyone for the ridiculously large photos...dunno wtf happened there!
