Just joined. My name is Andy out of Ohio. I have a decent collection of John Wayne memorabilia and posters. I have recently retired and learning how to restore these posters.
Hi and welcome to the forum Andy. You may have guessed that my forum name Hondo would indicate that I may be a fan of John Wayne also. Love to see any images of the Duke's material that you may feel would be of interest. There are a lot of John Wayne information and images spread throughout the discussion history if you would like to look into that.
Regarding restoring posters there is a large amount of related material available to be found here on the forum as previously mentioned by rockabilly777. On top of that we have member experts here on the subject of restoring posters that will be only too willing to assist and answer any questions that you may possibly have.
I have been collecting over 40 years. Recently retired. I have all posters from stagecoach you the shootist. I also acquired some of his personal items from his yacht. I am friends with Ed Faulkner as well. He gave me his back patch from hell fighters. My collection takes up the basement. Thank you
He was also in Chisum, Hellfighters, and Rio Lobo. He would play chess with Duke. Ed told me Duke’s hand were so big that he would inadvertently move pieces when making his moves. Ed would call him out to Duke’s laughter that he was caught. Ed was also considered for True Grit for Glen Campbell’s role, but had to refuse because of television commitments.
Ed gave me to add to my collection his back patch from his uniform from The Hellfighters, and the room number placard from Duke’s room while filming She Wore. A Yellow Ribbon at Goldings Lodge.

Cheers, Lawrence.
I can imagine you must have heard then some interesting stories from Ed about his times on the sets working alongside the Duke.
The Searchers, Hondo and Red River are my favourite John Wayne films.
A couple of nice Australian film posters of the film that I thought you would like to see Duke.
Ed Faulkner, my friend passed away in August 2025.
To any unaware of him he appeared in six John Wayne films including the three featured below.
