Donations needed to help my Mom fight Pancreatic Cancer

I have set up a donation page for my mother who is currently fighting pancreatic cancer that has spread to the liver. The doctors told her that she has about 11 months with Chemo. Doctor bills are already piling up from what the insurance will not cover. We are also wanting to try alternative medicines. Any donations in any amount will be extremely helpful. I am not one to ask for help but we are only given one mother and I would like her around longer the 11 months. She is only 49 years old. When I talked to her yesterday I told her I set up the page and she thanked me and immediately following that she said " I am not ready to go yet Randy". That wrenched my heart like no other. I want to do everything in my power to help and have her around longer. So please if you can donate that would be wonderful. The link is provided below

Thank you and god bless you all. Everyone in this forum are great and wonderful people.

  • Guy's, if you're thinking of buying a $100 poster that you'll never frame and put on the wall then this is your chance to help out a mate's mom.

    GO CANDY!
  • Thank you Matt, David, and Lyn for your donations. It means a lot to me. All of your donations are going to a great cause. My mom is only 49 years old and you all have read has pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. The doctors are telling her with chemotherapy she only has about 11 months to live. So we are trying to fight this as much as possible even with alternative medicines. Fighting cancer is an expensive battle. I set the donations page up for my mom yesterday and we are currently at 11% of our goal. I told my mom yesterday that I set this up for her and she was thanking me. And if you know my mom she has pride issues about asking for donations. That is part of the reason I just set it up without asking her. But in the conversation she said "Randy I am not ready to go. I will fight this until my last breathe". That was very heart wrenching for me to hear. She has grandchildren that are still babies that she needs to watch grow up.

So any donations even if it is a few dollars will help us out so much. I appreciate all the support of the forum. You all are wonderful people.
    God bless each of you.
Cherish the people you have in your lives because you never know when they can be taken from you.
  • Good luck Randy's mum from Down Under!
  • Bump!
  • Well all here is the update
I just thought I would update you all since you donated. My mother had a stroke late Wednesday night due to the chemo. It paralyzed her right side and now she is on home hospice to live out what remaining days she has left. The chemo is what caused her to have a stroke. So unfortunately she cannot continue on with the chemo and it is just a matter of time now.  My dad asked the nurse yesterday how long she has and the nurse told him from her experience 1-2 weeks if she lasts longer then we are very fortunate. So things have been very very rough here. Again I wanted to thank you all for everything and the support and donations that you all contributed. My mom before all of this happened wanted me to tell you all thank you very much. She also told me that she did not think that people that she has never met would be so kind and caring and donate. She said she appreciates it very much and wanted me to tell you all thank you with all her heart.

    Your friend,
    Randy

  • I'm so sorry to hear that Randy. It must be heartbreaking.

My thoughts go out to you and your mom and family.
  • Really, really sorry Randy.
  • Thank you all for everything you have done. It is a very hard time right now. We are all trying to be strong for each other.
  • Sorry buddy...
  • Oh Randy, so sorry.
  • Very Sorry to hear this Randy, my thoughts are with you and your family.
  • Give your mom a hug for me. A sad time for all.

  • Randy very sorry to hear this news.  My thoughts are also with you and your family...
  • Thank you all. I am taking it day by day dreading when I get that call when I am at work. My dad has already started to make the final arrangements for her which is very hard to do. My dad and mom have been married for 32 years and have known each other since she was 13 and he was 16. Each other is all they know and my dad says it everyday that he is going to be lost without her. True love is a very hard thing to find.

Again I wanted to thank you all for everything you have done. You are all great people and like a second family to me. God bless you all.
  • I send my best wishes to you and your family Randy. And lots of love.
  • I am incredibly sad to say that Randy lost his mum today.

  • Oh...no...
  • Yeah she passed away October 23 at 6 am mountain time. It is a hard time for my family right now. My dad is having a very hard time. I wanted to thank you all for your support and donations. They will help my father pay medical bills.
  • Rest In Peace Candy.
  • She was the most caring, loving, kind, and most thoughtful person you could ever meet. She would always put others needs before her own. She was also a huge animal lover. She would always try to rescue any animal should could. My mom will truly be missed.
  • My condolences Randy, it truly is an awful time.  Several years back Yvonne and I lost 3 of our parents within a year, I cannot think of a worse time in our lives.. It goes without saying but, You look after your Dad; And take care of yourself.
  • I have been keeping his mind occupied. We have gone out hunting a lot since she passed just so he is not sitting at home alone and thinking. However when we get home it hits him all over again. He is use to my mom having something ready for him to eat when he got back from hunting. Things are rough now but time will partially heal the wounds. I do not think a wound such as this will ever fully heal.
  • They never do Randy, we just learn to cope with it better as time goes on...
  • What Paul said Randy, time only allows us to cope better.

    Best wishes.
