Marchant & Co was first registered as a business on February 9th 1903 by Percy Marchant and Percy White. The nature of their business was registered as "Printers & manufacturing stationers" and their place of business was 289 Pitt Street Sydney.

F Cunninghame & Co was first registered as a business on February 12th 1903 by Felix Cassanett Timothy. The nature of their business was registered as "Manufacturing stationers & letter press printers"  and their place of business was 146 Pitt St Sydney & Erskine Street Sydney.

WE Smith was first registered as a business on June 19th 1903 by William Easdown Smith. The nature of their business was registered as "Printer and Stationer"  and their place of business was 22 - 30 Bridge Street Sydney.

Hollander & Govett was first registered as a business on July 1st 1903 by Jacob Hollander. The nature of the business was registered as " Advertising Contractors"  and their place of business was 89 Clarence Street Sydney

The Swift Printing Company was first registered as a business on September 14th 1903 by Frederick Lionel Pratt. The nature of the business was registered as "Printer" and their place of business was 3 Jamieson Lane Sydney.

John Evans & Son Printing Company was first registered as a business on July 30th 1913 by Tom Johnstone Hudson & Samuel Henry Hogan. The nature of their business was registered as "Printing" and their place of business was 200 Castlereagh Street Sydney. (They later moved to 486-488 Kent Street, Sydney. Often printed the name JNO. EVANS & SON PRINTING CO on the poster)

The H & A Printing Company was first registered as a business on July 4th 1914 by Tom Johnstone Hudson & Samuel Henry Hogan. The nature of their business was registered as "Printing & Manufacturing Stationery" and their place of business was Sussex House 190A Sussex Street Sydney. Although there is no evidence H&A printed movie posters this was the same address of The Rotary Press Ltd who were producing movie posters from about 1927, including The Jazz Singer.

Morrison & Bailey was first registered as a business on August 1st 1917 by Norman Morrison and Harry Humphrey Bailey. The nature of their business was registered as "General Printing"  and their place of business was 278 Elizabeth Street Sydney.

    A footnote: you would be noting a lot of printers registered in 1903, without going through the legalese it appears a law was passed in 1902 that required:

    every firm carrying on business or having any place of business in New South Wales under a firm-name which does not consist of the full or the usual names of all the partners without any addition; and

    (b) every person carrying on business or having any place of business in New South Wale s under any firm-name consisting of or containing any name or addition other than the full or the usual name of that person -

    shall register in the manner directed by this Act the name under which their or his business is or is intended to be carried on.
