Star Wars Quad - Help

hi all

i need some help. i bought this poster from the U.S.. ive been after one for a long time and i was happy i finally got one.

i just wondered if anyone had one who could tell me if it is ok. it seems thin to me. i know older posters are generally thinner but i just want to make sure. it was bought from a reputable dealer.

What are the exact dimensions of the quad and who did you buy it from?

It looks to be undersized and should be a full 30x40 inches. I think someone did an authentication comparison on the Chantrell quad but I am trying to find it.

Maybe Paul Waines will chime in in the meantime...

Hi Paul,

the quads are not renowned for being bootlegged like the US one sheets, but our quad export Paul will be best to answer

You could compare the image of the original quad attached to yours to determine if cropped/trimmed - look at the stars near the borders (lots I know), but might give you some peace of mind.

Hello Wattsy,

As Chris says they should measure 30x40, but thats not cast in stone, I'll measure mine when I get home tonight.

The paper should be a matt finish, and the back of the poster should be a slightly rough finish. It will be thinner than newer posters, but not as thin as ones from the 50's.

It could be right, just trimmed....more later.

Do be aware that some reputable dealers are more reputable than others, and some do make honest mistakes.

Do you have a pic of yours so we can see all the edges?

Did anyone else not get the pictures as I only get a question mark, no pics??

Anyhoo, to be exact, I measured both versions of the Star Wars Quad(not sure which one you have), and both are the same, 39 7/8" X 29 15/16", so short of the 30x40 by 1/8" and 1/16" the other way.

If someone can get the pics up, I can take the same shot for comparison....

Managed to click on the pics, the paper looks spot on, could do with better corner shots. I'll take some of mine anyway.

If it's trimmed it's a shame as it's a rolled one..

Do be aware that there is fake full size Goldfinger Quads out there as well as re-release ones that look very similar....

He asked me a lot of questions about how to improve his site etc and I offered to rebuild it (for free) so it would be more user friendly.

Dunno what's with the people look at no-strings-attached offers so sideways - too many cynics in the world
