Sorry Sven, I edited out all the rest, the Reader's Digest version was more than enough as opposed to Bruce's War & Peace version.  ;)

    Sure David makes sense ;;)
  • Why does it seem Bruce is going to all backed auctions lately?
  • I haven't bought a linen backed poster since I started back up again 2 years ago...After the whole wallpaper paste discussion can't bring myself to roll the dice...

  • Wallth paperth you say... :)
  • Emovie has been lackluster in turning up big titles too compared to HA!

They will never be in HA's league as long as they have a No Reserve policy - daylight comes second to HA.

As Dave says, they will always be on different leagues, not just because of the No Reserve policy.
Emovie is a "family business" with around 30 people working there. Heritage is one big ass corporation -with all the good and bad things that implies-, dealing with not just movie posters, but coins, comics, art, and almost every collectible category.
Given the huge difference between the both, I would say Emovie does a terrific job.
Surely, they will not receive some of the pieces Heritage does get consigned, as the consignor will always want to get the most money for his piece, guaranteed by Heritage's reserve amount, their promotion resources -ads, catalog- and of course, their wealthy clientele.

  • Great insight Mr. Matias

It would be silly for anyone to suggest that both them two auction houses are in the same league. What I meant was, emovie has been lackluster in terms of the items offered in their recent mini major auctions compared to what they use to turn up say 12 months and earlier. Where as HA, time and time again continue to offer excellent material in their auctions.

Personally I don't believe buyers premiums has anything to do with it.

    No one mentioned Buyer's Premiums?

I did mention last time that EMPs (mini/major) was slim in the pickings, so on that basis I'd agree with you - but it could be cyclic

    Huh? What?

Maybe its the drug use that heightens your perception?
    :D
  • I see Bruce has named his auction in June a Major one, maybe he should rename this one to just a Mini cause there ain't much in it.

  • It's in April...
  • I know you're in pain old man but re read whot eye rote ;)
