Curious to hear any ones thoughts on these two different design daybills?

  • In my former homeland's defense, our artists don't do their best work until after the nap...

  • Do you have a stockpile of images that you one day hope to use on occasions like this? Very funny though.

No. Sometimes your posts inspire me ;)
  • That's good then. I am pleased I inspire someone.

  • Let's have some talk on the daybills that were printed with and without censor ratings.  Are we fairly satisfied that those printed without ratings were for NZ use?

Another example (which I do not have) is Invisible Boy...

Yes.   For non Australian use being N.Z. and possibly for  some other pacific island destinations.

  • Another NZ example:

  • Originally banned in Australia the above daybill printed for the New Zealand release  in the late 1950's.

The film eventually was passed by the Australian censor receiving a certificate of registration on the  01- 11- 1972 and released after that.

  • Three other horror films that were originally banned in Australia in the late 1950's and early 1960's that had New Zealand release daybills printed for are ---

    Brides Of Dracula

    Curse Of The Undead

    Dracula

The following are New Zealand daybills that would have been printed for the partnership of Columbia & Warner Brothers and at least with the first daybill they were handling N.Z. distribution of Disney product.

Printed most likely in the late 1960s                                                        Printed between 1979  &  1984.

  • Re: the June 15 conversation- who's banning films in Australia that then get released in NZ? The BEF? Some govt agency? Does NZ have their own film distribution agencies & printers? Or does it all come from Australia? :-? ...thanks.
  • Different countries different censorship boards.
  • Hey There, It's Yogi Bear.

    New Zealand Deluxe Special Daybill.

  • 'Deluxe special' - strange name for it, surely not the official name?

Photocopiers must of got a workout in NZ!

  • The Werewolf, The Man Who Turned To Stone and Creature With The Atom Brain were all banned in Australia in the 1950s and not passed for exhibition in Australia until sometime between 1969 and 1971 but the three films were passed for exhibition in New Zealand .

The Werewolf was classified in 1956 with a R16 rating after cuts.

The Man Who Turned To Stone was classified in 1957 with a R13 rating after cuts.

Creature With The Atom Brain was classified in 1957 with a R13 rating and apparently without any cuts.

My question is has anyone sited the daybills that were printed for the New Zealand only releases by Columbia pictures? I am thinking duotone printed styles as I believe I may know the printer's name for one of daybills and the three were possibly printed by the same printer.
