Would You Could You Get A Poster Tattoo?

edited June 2014 in Everything Else!

So would you, (or do you have one already) a tattoo of either a movie poster or of a movie?

If not which would you get?

Found some online - a couple are no recommendations to go ahead and get one...

  • I'd never get a Tattoo, but if I did it would like something this.

  • Imagine, if he put on some weight and built up those biceps he could give ol' Clint a face lift...

There's a few sessions in those last two.

So you would go more for the characters than the poster?

I think I'd do a poster - just to be a little different.
  • I might even do something Clockwork Orange related. Such as the image on the poster.
  • I'd think a tat like this would look fairly sensational:

  • Uh.  No tattoos for me.
  • Nor me..
  • wooses

  • Good Grief, NO! That's moola that could go toward POSTERS!!!
  • At last someone talking sense...
  • Conversely think of the money you save on framing...
  • I would. I might do it soon...
  • Saw something interesting on FB this morning...

Here is my tattoo I got done a week ago ( 5 Hours work ), it still needs another 4 hours to do colour. First daybill tattoo that I know of. The artist is a 3rd year apprentice, he does amazing work.

  • Cool! Color will of course, make it really look good! 3rd year apprentice? He's got another to add to his portfolio.
  • Now THAT'S very cool, look forward to seeing it coloured in.

First I've seen Craig! Cool! You do realise if you collect daybill tatooes similar to how hard you collect daybills you will quickly run into storage issues  =)
  • Kong rules!

  • Coming in a tadge late on this thread. Newbie to the forum (I was having technical problems with confirming my email)but an old hand at poster collecting. Been severely addicted to overpriced bits of paper since 1963, back when one sheets cost a whopping 75 cents from Theater Poster Exchange, regardless of title. Stopped collecting for a few years in the Seventies while focusing my energies on being in the music business (I confess; I play rock music for a living), sold my collection (dummy!) while being flat broke in the music business, and became re-addicted to this bizarre little hobby again in 1995 as my fortunes in my job of choice took an ongoing turn for the better. I had this tattoo done when I turned 55, 11 years ago, and a year later got "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" on the other arm. In a nice bit of serendipity, I just scored a stunning one sheet on linen for "Screaming Skull" for a very reasonable price. The piece appears to have been a solid Near Mint prior to backing.  Which means, of course, that I have to get a "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" poster now. Right? Am I right? This looks like a lively bunch, glad to be here.
  • Welcome Greg

Great tatt, let's see the other one too! I think finding a good artist is the key, someone who can interpret as well as reproduce, seems you have - been hard to find a half decent one dowununder to date.

I think you will make a lot of grown men cry when you regale us stories of the paper that has passed through your hands. And glad to have you on board, I must confess you were part of my teen years way (way) back when...

  • Welcome! Sounds like you've seen a few decades of evolution in the hobby! Look forward to seeing seeing some of your posters. Good looking tatt-nice use of colors.

David-surprised it would be hard to find a decent tattoo artist in AU. Weather, beaches...Southern Cal full of them.
  • 'Artist' is the key word, because mistakes don't wash off...
  • True...that's why you have a "tester" placed in a "hidden" area to find out how good an artist they are!...
  • Welcome Greg, great looking tatt.
