Horror Films Never Screened Theatrically In Australia That Weren't Banned.

Film # 1.  Vault Of Horror ( aka The Vault Of Horror / Further Tales From The Crypt / Tales From The Crypt, Part 11 ) ( 1973 ).

This film appears to have never been submitted for classification on 35mm for theatrical release in Australia as no records from Government databases exist to prove that the film was ever submitted or banned in Australian. The film was eventually submitted and passed for exhibition on videotape on the 1st of February,1984 when given an M certificate.

The list must be looong, there must be a pile that performed so badly they were never picked up (not just horror too I imagine).

Yes there would have been a number of films that would fall into this category but not as much in the 1970s as Blake, Filmways. Roadshow, Cemp, Regent, Seven Keys and other independent distributors picked up the most awful titles around this period for release. Vault Of Horror wasn't a small budget film without any name actors as it had ten well known actors appearing in it. Through my research, films similar to this one were either passed for exhibition or banned in the early 1970s and not rejected for theatrical distribution in Australia as they reguarly are today.
