Thank you Charlie. I have been collecting pressbooks since I was 6 years old, as my grandfather was in the exhibition business in Canada working for branches of Universal, RKO and others and seeing all of these pressbooks in his office really got me. Since then I have collected. I don't have a paticular type I like best (of course love the big ones), but now I buy what I can find to fill in on movies I don't have.
I want to buy more pressbooks....whether it be singles or in "lots." The market right now is not very good for pressbooks as I have seen on Ebay, unless of course it is a major title. I don't only buy hits, but all types of pressbooks. I am willing to buy duplicates (sometimes I might want one in better condition). I also take duplicates when I purchase a "lot" or group of them. My collection spans the 20's through the early 80's. If you have any pressbooks for sale or know anyone who does, please contact me.
I am disabled and this is what I do to fill in my time. Please if you know of anyone selling pressbooks, send me a note. Thank you.
Not sure if you are aware of emovieposter.com, they have the odd auction from time to time for items that will be right up your alley. The owner is Bruce who is also a member and as Charlie said has quite the collection himself.
I have corresponded with Rob. He is a great guy, and shares my love of pressbooks!

David, yes I have purchased many from Emovieposter and have added some beautis to my collection from the site and Bruce and I have talked several times about pressbooks.
I have a collection of approx. 20,000 pressbooks which I inherited from a close friend. I used to run a rep cinema in Toronto called the Roxy and love movies, but don't have the space to store them properly. It's unfortunate because I was also the art director of two major Canadian theatre chains: 20th Century Theatres and Famous Players. We used images from the pressbooks as the basis of our full page ads for the Toronto cinemas.
I'm looking for a buyer of the collection since I don't have the time or the inclination to sell them individually.
Boy I have to say there are probably many great and good people here on this site, but one of them who isn't that really did a rotten thing yesterday. I am not the type of person to post details because unlike this person, I act like I am older than 15. I just wanted to put this post here so the person knows that I am aware of what they are trying to do, and I was told who it is. I am glad I don't have to live with myself doing things to undermine and trick others for money.
Sorry it is just a message for someone who did a rotten thing to me yesterday involving items, and I just wanted to post here so that person knows that I know who it is. I apologize for having to do it publicly.
