Your (realistic) Dream Car...

Not to dream about having all kinds of lottery money, but what would you see yourself actually buying with your hard earned money? I have brokered a deal with the wife that when she pays off her car I am snagging one of these (I forgot to say it is a 1957 Chevy) and keeping my truck (since it's already paid for)...



Convertibles may be more trouble than there worth so a basic two door hard top might just fit the bill. I want to stay away from the gangster tires though and stick with white walls or drag racing style. Bel Air is a must. Black. Must be automatic and have AC...



I really want a 69 Corvette but that's a two seater - maybe after the kid is gone...

    David if you can realistically get into a Bentley or Aston Martin perhaps you should consider turning your efforts towards Universal Horror paper?

    Oh and leave the Aussie paper well behind...

    I'm not big on horror and my purchase rules for movie paper remain pretty much the same, self funding as much as possible.

    And I test drove the Bentley two weeks ago...just a little more powerful that the Suzuki 125 I had to ride when I was 12...(oh and about 5 miles away, as the crow flies, over my right shoulder is where LOTR etc would one day be filmed)

    An Aston would be one from the top of my list, but if this is only affordable cars, my next may well be a 69 Charger.

    In 1975 my school friend bought a '57 but I am sure he didn't pay $50. The following year three of us restored it to be a bitchn street car (c/w a 454 short block)...we picked up a lot of women with that car. Those were the days!

    I've always wanted a Robnell. It's a replica Cobra that was made here in Victoria.

    It came out in a 351 or a 429 with the option of long range fuel tanks. A neighbour down the street had one years ago and boy did it sound sweet.

    Gee, from memory back then they ranged from 85k to 105k, don't quote me but I remember that included a driving course at Sandown race track.

    I don't dream very big.....but I also refuse to have a monthly car payment.  This isnt my daily driver but I always wanted something with two wheels and got this last year for $15. only 200 miles on it and was a little old lady's grocery bike.

    I suppose the distance between chalets in those retirement villages are measured in feet not miles...

    All my adult-car-owning-life one of my more guilty pleasure in life is the 3 hours or so spent early on an early Saturday babying my car...today was no exception. :x
