Dating The Outlaw ( 1943 ) Australian Daybills

The Outlaw ( 1943 /1946 ). To once and for all date the above two daybill posters I have decided to do so. The original United Artists release was at the Sydney Plaza on Friday the 25th of July, 1947. The RKO Radio re-release ( 1950 in the U.S.A. ) was released in Australia in 1952. Love the search for Brisbane's Jane Russell newspaper advertisement from Sunday the 14th of September, 1952. To set the records straight there wasn't a release of The Outlaw circa 1943 in Australia. Where is the 1952 RKO Australian one sheet? Heaps of daybills but no one sheet. Exciting news is that an original 1947 United Artists one sheet has surfaced and the design is most likely not what you would have expected.

  • You mean John's STUNNING One Sheet?

Yes I was referring to this one and it certainly leaves the United Artist 1947 daybill in it's wake ( in my opinion ) .
  • Bit of a grumpy face IMHO

All known eight  images of Australian The Outlaw film poster advertising.
  •
A 20th Centurty Fox Australian stock poster printed in the 1940's copying artwork as seen above from the U.S.A. aborted intended early 1940's release that wasn't released here in Australia.

An original daybill, one sheet and a glass slide produced for the first Australian release in 1947 by United Artists.

The Australian RKO Radio Australian 1952 re-release printed daybill, one sheet and press sheet.

     (1940's)
The above poster of unknown size or any other details has a 1950's Australian censorship rating printed on it, and is very interesting. It is the same design as appeared in a U.S.A. magazine publication in the 1940's with an image ot it also appearing just above..

  • They're all lovely posters, great seeing them all in one place.

  • The unknown size thing is an ad from a magazine, great art though.
