Three images from what were well known comedy films in their day. Let us now see how we fare with finding the answer for them.

    C3 is Artists and Models (1955). Martin and Lewis directed by Frank Tashlin. I think I know C1 as well but will wait for others to chip in.

    It certainly is the film in question and well done. Dorothy Malone appearing in the following image with Jerry Lewis.

    It unfortunately isn't that film. Think of much earlier films..

    For c1.  I bought a Magnavox LaserDisc player the first morning they went on sale.  This was one of the first 3 disc's I bought with it.

    THE C1 answer is certainly correct. Well done, Animal Crackers from 1930. Sorry I didn't realise that this was your plan.

     I viewed this film at a one night only screening in Canberra ACT in the 1970s. It wasn't screened in a conventional cinema and on 16mm. where it played to a packed enthusiastic audience.

    Sorry, but it isn't Annie Get Your Gun, and for the record this film is actually from 1950. Love your thinking though that you derived from the given clues.'' A final clue is the 1930s.

    Aha! I was thinking Harold Lloyd originally but looks like it's Whoopee! (1930) - with Eddie Cantor.
