I couldn't find a regular Aus 1sht image for Kid G.
My buddy, who was a projectionist in the 1950s & ran the Lithgow Cinema in the 1970s, told me that UA were particularly tight. They would often run out of posters, and also jacked up the f… -
Each to their own, but I always give precedence to full-colour posters, and wouldn't advertise that 3 colour job as first release.
Does anyone know the story on these Elvis reprints? I've seen them for quite a few of his films. No printe… -
I think that 3 colour db is R71. Probably never know for sure, but seems a high probability if you found evidence of screenings that year.

According to Bruce this star child poster was for a 1971RR. Obviously that happened in NZ, but no idea about here in Aust.
Important Added Info: Note 2001: A Space Odyssey opened in 70mm in 1968 in a roadshow release. In 1969 it… -
Looks like something that would have been used at the film's premiere. Unfortunately I can't find any pics to back that up. Image on right is also on the Aussie 1sht.

Here's a piece of Aussie cinema history. 20ft long canvas banner out of Victoria. Feeling safe about only known example!

Wasn't sure where to post this, but probably fits here.
Someone got creative and created this on the back of two 1960s one sheets stuck together. I love it!in We want it scary...but not TOO scary! Comment by Mark April 2023

Probably should have said 4 colour vs 3, as there is black around title. Text is different - look at the 2 in 2001.
The one sheet is very scarce, and the only copies I've seen have yellow and match daybill on left. I suspect that cheaper versio… -
How about taking a closer look at 2001: A Space Odyssey. What I see is a 3 colour daybill vs 2 colour. Possible re-release c1970.

This one survived in near mint condition.

These are nice Aussie collectables. Some with artists' signatures.

Very little Aussie material around for TIE. The half sheet was auctioned with other 1950s sci-fi posters, including various daybills. I would love to confirm that it was used here, but at the same time, a censor stamp would detract from the image (i…

Lobby cards have the comma. Grammar is organic, and US is different to Brit / UK etc. I would say the comma is correct grammar, but may have been deleted with the title spread over two lines. The forum's resident journo would know best.

Both of those posters came from a small cinema in country Victoria. I have 2 x Flashdance, each with signs of being displayed. No sign Herbie Bananas was displayed. There are Herbie Bananas daybills with pinholes etc, so the regular posters were up.…

Has G in triangle printed on (look left of VW about 6 inches). GU circular logo is in fold at left just above "Starring". I thought the G might be stamped, so I measured the distance to border on both sides. It's definitely printed and an Aussie pos…

I did see I Confess come up with writing on back. I also bought this poster from small auction house in Sydney late last year. Hell of a nice poster, and I suspect it was displayed locally. They often list them on Aussie press sheets as 22 x 28 colo…

I'm just posting this in case you want the image for your archive. Not a db I have seen before. Just arrived this week.

Endless Summer started out as 16mm independent screenings in Aussie surf clubs. Wasn't until later when Columbia took over distribution that it went to 35mm and posters were produced. There are a number of obscure surfing posters I've seen that have…

Yes, backed and framed. No resto.

I remember Freedom Riders, as I see it every time I search Aust on EMP!
Most I have ever seen of a single title is around 100 (Batman Returns db & Attack Force Z 1sht).

I saw Tarz & his mate for sale about 6 months ago. Price was reasonable, but to my eye, that colour palette is not right for first printing. Ended up walking.

Any type of horizontal, I reckon. I think there was a similar thread a long time ago, but I couldn't find it anymore.

Where did these all come from?

Was researching a Strangers on Train daybill and stumbled onto this thread. Had to think hard to remember my password!
