Monster A GoGo's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show

  • Welcome comrades, to the latest installment of the SHOCK-O-RAMA POSTER SHOW. While there is nothing all that awe-inspiring or unusual or rare...I think it will keep your interest, and hopefully you won't find yourself nodding off.

Okay, have you got a bottle of vodka and a big bowl of borscht ready? Then let the show begin...

    VIY (Russian re-release):

Last spring, I had a chance to visit a friend who lives in Russia (You can read about my visit HERE). Not long after my return, I became aware of a movie called VIY. VIY is the first-ever Russian horror movie. The movie had some good atmosphere and some creepy effects, but was ultimately kind of silly and dated. (The titular demon doesn't show up until the very end...and he/it is very laughable. Ha!) I still liked the flick, though. This popped up on eMovie not long ago. It is an 80's re-release poster for the film. (The film itself hails from the mid-1960s.) I got it for my Russian friend as a gift. (He told me he grew up watching VIY on TV as a child and has fond memories of the film). However, he is not a movie poster kind o' guy. SO, I may end up hanging on to it. I wouldn't mind at all. As a special salute to VIY and my Russian friend and my chance to visit Russia, all of my gifs this time (except for the one at the top--the "Soviet Film Agency" thang is sort of a joke)  are from VIY. Ha! Enjoy.

    CHARLIE'S ANGELS (2019) (Final style):

Don't judge. As a kid, I loved the original CHARLIE'S ANGELS TV show. I liked the first remake film (but the second one was...uh, lame) and I (believe it or not) liked the short-lived TV remake a few years back. When a new reboot movie was announced, I was excited. When it started crashing and burning, I wasn't surprised since the source material was 40+ years old. I finally saw it before it disappeared entirely and...well, okay. It was CRAP! But I liked the idea behind it...although it was still crap. So why buy the poster? Because I'm a spazoid and I have posters for the other two CHARLIE'S ANGELS movies. I do have to give Jaclyn Smith props for making the briefest of cameo appearances in this one though, sort of tying all of the incarnations together....although that is just me being a nerd fan boy...er, nerd fan old geezer.

VIVA DJANGO (aka DJANGO PREPARE A COFFIN) (Italian re-release):

I've never seen the original DJANGO or any of the fake sequels (unauthorized sequels or movies where the titles were changed and the dialogue were re-dubbed to turn them into sequels). The only DJANGO I've seen is Tarantino's (That was the last of his movies I actually liked. Sorry. I wasn't too keen on INGLORIOUS BASTERDSHATEFUL EIGHT, or ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD.)  However, I did buy all of these DVDs with the various fake DJANGO flicks (and the real original DJANGO) a while back... I just have not watched them yet. I am relatively sure the movie for this poster is included in the DVDs I purchased.  I'm just not a fan of westerns. SNORE! I don't even know what I was thinking buying this poster. Oh well... Ha!

    PROM NIGHT (French):

Jamie Lee Curtis once referred to this movie as DISCO DEATH. Ha! This early entry into the 80's slasher craze is rather predictable, but is still fun. I dig it...especially when Jamie gets her bad self down to a disco beat. Too funny. Fun French art. Ooo la la.

    THE BURNING (French):

Another French poster---this time for the ultimate FRIDAY THE 13TH ripoff, THE BURNING. The US one sheet was one of the first dozen or so posters I had back in the day, but this art is completely different. If you haven't seen this, you should. A lot of stars got their big break in this one. Holly Hunter, Jason Alexander, and Fisher Stevens all made their debut in the film. Leah Ayres, who was the fake Marcia Brady on THE BRADYS, is also in this. The notorious Harvey Weinstein is credited for story idea and producing. Horror effects maestro Tom Savini was also involved with the project.

    SLAUGHTERHOUSE (Video Poster):

I usually do not buy video posters---but sometime you have to buy video posters as no theatrical posters exist (for those direct-to-video releases). That is what I thought the case was with this one--but I have since learned that there was a theatrical release for this flick and there are theatrical one sheets for it as well. UGH!

    SUBSPECIES (Video):

Speaking of video posters, I picked up this cheap-o. It looked kind of like it might be a spooky fun movie. Who knows? And--unless someone out there corrects me again, I do NOT think this ever had a theatrical release. Hence--the video poster.

PIGS (aka DADDY'S DEADLY DARLINGROADSIDE TORTURE CHAMBERTHE STRANGE LOVE EXORCIST, etc.):

I saw this flick in the '80's at the drive-in. Little did I know that it was a re-release from 1973 and had originally been called DADDY'S DEADLY DARLING. I later found out it was also released under such titles as ROADSIDE TORTURE CHAMBER and THE STRANGE LOVE EXORCIST. But it is total crap. Ha! The friends who saw this with me used to joke about this for years. Why buy the poster if it is such an awful movie? Just look at the poster. It screens that it's going to be a great exploitation flick. It's a total bogus lie, but what great art and such lurid language. Zowie! How could I have not wanted to see this movie back in the day? You may also notice that Katherine Ross is listed as being in the film (and, as I recall, was mentioned in all of the commercials for it). It turns out, that it's a Katherine Ross but not the Katharine Ross (of THE GRADUATE fame). Ha! Producer/director Marc Lawrence also stars in this with his adult daughter Toni Lawrence in the lead role as this deranged chick with a daddy complex. I already have a copy of this somewhere, but I bought it for a lot more money than I paid for this one. This one belongs in the all-time exploitation hall of shame. It suckered me into going. Ha!

    DEAD ALIVE:

I was absentmindedly looking through posters in eMovieposter's Fixed Price section and I passed by this one for DEAD ALIVE. I continued looking and then stopped dead in my tracks. Hello? I've seen DEAD ALIVE several times, but do I have the poster? No, I don't think so. Especially since I was always under the assumption it was a direct-to-video import. It had a theatrical release and there are one sheets? SOLD!!!

    SATAN'S CHEERLEADERS:

Yes, this is a real movie and I’ve wanted this poster for a long while. Yahoo! It is mine. The movie isn’t so good, though (Best part about it is the poster). However, I may be wrong. In my head I am forever mixing it up...well, blending it together, actually...with the original SATAN’S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS, which is a TV movie starring pre-CHARLIE’S ANGELS Kate Jackson (who is also in the TV remake) and Cheryl Ladd. Neither are in this, but THE MUNSTERS Yvonne DeCarlo and  genre veteran John Carradine are. And this one has cheerleaders....and a witch! Love the tag line: Funnier than THE OMEN. Scarier than SILENT MOVIE. Ha!

And there (above) is the demon VIY, making his grand entrance. That must signal the end of this episode of the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. Thank you for visiting and come back again soon. Now, quick! Run away before VIY and his assorted demons attack you...and do unspeakable things to you. Oh my! Oooo....looks like it's a bit too late. Oh well.

    CHEERS!

  • Hello!

Thank you for visiting. I'm having a medical procedure done tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be fine. (REALLY!) BUT...just in case, I thought I I'd go ahead and post any and everything new--from new posters to newly framed posters. It's a (short) regular post PLUS a (short) update all in one. There is sooooo NOTHING exciting here...but hello? I just posted a day or two ago. Cut me some slack.

     Anyway, here you go-go:

    TIME COP:

I have no interest in this poster, no interest in Jean Claude Van Damme or any of his movies. Why do I have this? The seller I got this from had a buy 2-get 1 free deal. This was the free one. Nothing else at all appealed to me. At least this one has some sort of sci-fi element. The seller was selling both video posters and one sheets. This would appear to be a one sheet---no mention of a video company or it being on DVD/VHS/etc. But as I'm not a Van Damme fan, I really don't know. I'm guessing it is a theatrical one sheet---but I could be wrong. (But then, what else would be new?)

    BLOOD SALVAGE (video?):

I've never seen this, but it was sleazy, cheesy and CHEAP! I recently posted about being okay with some video posters as not all movies have theatrical one sheets (i.e. direct to video releases). I believe this is a direct-to-video release, so this is probably a video release poster...but I'm not sure.

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN 2: TEXAS BLOOD MONEY (video?)

I have a theatrical one sheet for the original FROM DUSK TILL DAWN. I stumbled on this and thought why NOT get the posters for the two sequels as well? This was cheap (and the reason I didn't get the poster for the third one is because the only ones I saw were priced higher than I wanted to pay for direct-to-video sequel poster).  I don't believe there was a theatrical release for this flick and I am fairly certain this is a video poster...but I'm not sure. Zowie! I've realized just now I'm NOT that versed in video posters. (Usually they say they are available on videocassette or something like that. This one doesn't. Hmm...)

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER:

As I have in the past, I picked up this STAR WARS poster as an investment for the future. Hopefully.  I did finally see this flick. Fortunately I saw this in the very last local showing of the film in our 4DX theater. As I'm not the biggest fan of the series, I was a bit lost in the plot...so the ride-like quality of the 4DX presentation made it feel like I was on a 2 1/2 hour version of the STAR TOURS ride at Disneyland somewhat. Ha! That helped.

That's it for the "new" stuff.

    THE HOUSE ON TELEGRAPH HILL:

Remember the issue with the recently purchased THE HOUSE ON TELEGRAPH HILL poster? I was heartsick seeing that hole in it when I had wanted it for so long....but today I got word that eMovieposter.com received the poster back and they've credited my purchase price back to PayPal for me. They offered to refund my postage as well, but I was just glad they took the return and told them they did not need to include the postage (I can return a nice favor, too, ya know...). It all worked out swell...except now I have to hunt for another copy. Waaaagh!

Here are my recently framed posters:

    MAY:

This is a great little movie that no one has seen. Angela Bettis is awesome in her pre-CARRIE TV remake role. I'd have loved to have gotten a rolled version of the poster, but I have only ever seen this one available.

    THE CAULDRON OF BLOOD:

Also known as RICCO and MEAN MACHINE, this flick looks like a pretty grisly little horror flick. It's actually a GODFATHER knockoff about revenge against the Mafia and not a horror film at all. But the poster art...ZOWIE! How gruesome and horrific. There is a vat of acid in the flick, but nude woman ends up in it...just some mafia goons. Ha! Another great poster that shamelessly suckers people into buying a repackaged bunch o' old goods. I'd have fallen for it. I love the art. Starring Chris Mitchum and Barbara Bouchet.

    SATAN'S CHEERLEADERS:

Yippie! This recent purchase looks great behind plexiglass. I can not wait to hang it. It will go in the living room or hallway---and whatever it kicks off the walls will end up on the guest room wall eventually. This is such a silly/awesome poster. Ha! I love it.

    RE-ANIMATOR (art style):

Cult classic film based on H. P. Lovecraft's work that should have had better sequels than it did. This the alternative art version of the posters and is my favorite of the two styles. (I do have the other version as well...but this one just screams out for framing).

    MANIAC:

I remember when this came out. Many newspapers would not carry the ads featuring the gruesome scalps and bloody knife. Just like DAWN OF THE DEAD and I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, it was one of those films that was released unrated. I wanted to see this movie so bad. Of course, I had to wait until several years later to see it. With gory special effects by Tom Savini, it was well worth the wait. Classic 80s slasher sleaze with Caroline Munro and Joe Spinell.

And that is all for now.

    Wish me luck tomorrow....eeeek!

Hopefully I'll be back again soon.

    CHEERS!

  • Shawn, you are what I call a "Genuine Collector" and great to see Bruce looked after you on the Telegraph Hill poster! I have one myself, great artwork.
  • edited February 2020

Hello there! You are just in time. I've been perusing the newspaper ads again, looking for some deliriously wild movies to check out. I've got the posters for 10 prospects below. Let's take a look at them and see if anything strikes your fancy...or maybe bites your fancy? EEEK! Not all of them are horror, but try to keep an open mind. I'll save you a seat if you want to quickly rush to the snack bar. Just mind the sticky floor when you come back. But before you run off...

MATT: Thank you. I hope I'm a genuine collector---otherwise the room i call the "poster room" is a disaster area for no good reason. Ha! YES! Bruce and Company really did right by me with that poster. i'm still heartsick about it being flawed like that...and I have the arduous task of tracking down another now...but things worked out swell.

Now, off to the snack bar with you... There's still a little time before the show starts.

Ready? Got your Jujubes and Junior Mints? Thanks for getting me a Coke Icee. Okay, sit down. The show is starting now...

    PARANORMAN (Canadian):

I think I already have the very similar US one sheet. I saw this flick in the theater (I was the only adult there that was not accompanied by children. Ha!). I don't remember much about it--except there were zombies in it. But the poster is fun and it was cheap ($3). Why not?

    DISASTER:

I have a couple of copies of this old, forgotten disaster movie from 1948. I was/am a huge fan of the disaster flicks of the 1970s. I came across a half sheet for this (with very different art) years ago and wondered what the flick was like? I've never been able to see the film (which is apparently about an airplane crashing into a skyscraper and the rescue attempt that follows), but did come across the one sheet a few times. I just found a place I can order a DVD-r. Hmm. Should I?

    WATCH ME WHEN I KILL:

I already have a copy of this. Why buy another?  Well, I've been posting my posters on Instagram (as theshockoramapostershow ). That is actually a great way (is it better than my blog perhaps?) to share my collection...because you can just scroll through and SEE EVERYTHING. As of this writing, I only have 469 posts...but that hardly scratched the surface of my collection. Anyway, some dick-wad, who I don't know and have never communicated with, posted a few very rude and totally snarky comments, one of them on the post about another copy of this poster. I was appalled. I tried to respond and answer his comments. He responded with another snarky comment...and I thought to myself, Why does he feel the need to do this? Who needs that BS? So I blocked him. Bye bye, A-Hole. He was complaining that I was a "poser," collecting posters for movies I hadn't ever seen before, why not leave them for the real fans? First of all, no, I have not seen every movie I have posters for---but I try. (I hadn't seen this flick, but have the DVD. I'll get to it eventually). Not all movies are available to be seen, with films like MME OLGA'S MASSAGE PARLOR and the bulk of Andy Milligan's softcore flicks (THE FILTHY FIVE, GUTTER TRASH, TRICKS OF THE TRADE, etc.) being "lost". Some movies I have posters for I never knew existed until I came across the poster! I love movies, but I am a POSTER COLLECTOR. I collect posters. If I see a poster I like, I buy it (or try to...). Anyway, the butthead who posted those comments was lamenting that he wanted a copy of this poster, etc. etc. etc. Hello? They are not that hard to find and not that expensive. I came across this one on eBay and put it in my watch list. It was there nearly a week before I decided to just buy it to spite that jerk. I didn't need it---but he (if he could even figure out how to search for it) isn't getting it either. GRR! I can't believe how irked that idiot made me.

    SLAUGHTERHOUSE:

A short while back, I posted a new acquisition of a SLAUGHTERHOUSE video poster. I thought the flick went straight to video. Oops! Imagine my surprise when I found out it HAD had a theatrical release. I had to go back to the drawing board... well, at least go shopping again. Found a theatrical one sheet finally. I can call it a day on this title.

    THE FLAMBOYANT SEX:

See the torridly "sexy" finger scene!  Oh my!  Who doesn't need a poster with such a scandalous bit of verbiage like that on it? Ha! And it is distributed by Shawn International Inc. Ha! How Go-Go groovy! Even Paris was SHOCKED! Some pot-boiler nudie from 1963. It was super cheap so I thought I'd buy to resell down the road.

    SANTA SANGRE:

I LOVE this movie. I already have this one sheet (I think), but wanted a second copy just in case I'm mistaken. Alejandro Jorodowsky is BRILLIANT. This was the first film of his I ever saw...and you know what they say about your first time... Ha! I do like (and have) the original VHS video poster for this better than the one sheet...but still, it's SANTA SANGRE. It's such a great movie. I'm thrilled to have this and it MUST go on my walls very soon.

    THE SHED:

This is a new-ish film. I looked it up when I saw this poster for sale. The trailer is on YouTube. It looks like a little independent flick that is playing art houses and festivals, trying to make a name for itself. It looked interesting enough to invest in this poster for it...in case it ever does take off. It will probably disappear into obscurity (much like HELL NIGHT, which I really enjoyed and was sure would become a cult hit). Oh well...

    NO TIME TO DIE (Advance):

The new James Bond poster? Hello? Love my 007. I have US one sheets for all of the films, so I needed this one as well. It was a bit pricey (and a rather dull poster to boot), but it IS Bond. James Bond. I hope the final poster is far more interesting than this snoozeriffic advance... But if the previous posters for Daniel Craig's Bond adventures are any indication, I shouldn't get my hopes too high. Oh well...

    PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN:

This looks like an interesting (and timely...???) twist on psycho/serial killer flicks. Great poster art. How could you NOT love it?

    VAMPYRES (Spanish):

Arguably the best poster in this batch was one I wasn't even going to bother to bid on...until the last few minutes of the auction. I'm kind of done with foreign posters for the most part. The sizes are all different, making them more difficult to frame. With the US stuff, depending on when they were made, there is only an inch different in sizes. I've got frames for both sizes. However, the art on this was so groovy (spooky castle, bats, gravestones, and scantily clad vampire chicks with blood dripping down their mouths), I went for it. I paid more than I wanted---but what a fun poster. There is a sucker born every minute...or would that be suckee in relation to vampire movies and their posters?

Okay kids. That is it for today. I hope a few things grabbed your fancy...or perhaps tickled it? (Sadly there is nothing "fancy" about mine. Sigh...)

Have a fabulous fancy-ful day!  See you next time.

    CHEERS!

  • I just got caught up... Wonderful! Hope the procedure went well. I love the passion and excitement.
  • edited March 2020

Greetings! Welcome. You DARED to return for more vintage movie poster shocks, horrors and surprises, huh? It is a pretty mixed bag this time, but I do hope you enjoy your visit. There are 11 (yes, a BONUS poster) this time. It may be my last post of this type for a long, long while, so I wanted to get everything up I've recently gotten.  Why is it my last new poster purchase post for a long time? Well, I'll get to all of that later.

CHARLIE: Hi there. Thank you for your visit. It is always a pleasure having you come to my thread. The procedure went well, thank you. I hope all is well with you also.

Okay. Go catch the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. The lights are just starting to dim....

THAT'LL BE THE DAY (British quad):

I was totally unfamiliar with this title (that apparently was successful enough to spawn a sequel called STARDUST) when I spotted this British quad. It's a little rough (missing a corner) and not anything I wanted really. It just came with the quad below it (which I wanted). Sooo...   I think the illustration of David Essex looks more like Paul Le Mat as he looked in AMERICAN GRAFFITI. I love the ad on the bottom (see below) advertising the movie's soundtrack album from Ronco. Oh my stars! RONCO? Does anyone else remember Ronco? Ha!

HITCH HIKE (aka DEATH DRIVE) (British quad):

Despite the horrendous art, this was the quad I was going for when I got THAT'LL BE THE DAY. HITCH HIKE, for those unfamiliar with it, is another LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT knockoff, albeit set in a car. Corinne ("Story of O"/"Moonraker") Clery and Franco (the original "DJANGO"/"THE LAST SHARK HUNTER") Nero star along with David Hess, who is essentially playing the Krug part he originated in LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT as a hitchhiker who terrorizes the couple who pick him up.

ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES (small French):

I already have one of these, but I stumbled on this and it was a good price, so...

    RAMBO-THE LAST MAN (?!?) (Thai):

A guy on Instagram named grindhousecellar turned me on to this joyfully bizarre Turkish RAMBO ripoff called KORKUSUZ (RAMPAGE). When I came across this poster, I knew it wasn't a Stallone RAMBO flick. But I don't think it is KORKUSUZ either. A little more digging revealed that there are several bogus RAMBO imitations out there. In fact, there are two different Turkish RAMBO ripoffs (VAHSI KAN is the Turkish version of FIRST BLOOD) out there and others from other countries. There are the Bruno Mattei's STRIKE COMMANDO (with Reb Brown)and STRIKE COMMANDO 2 (with Brent Huff). There is something called DEADLY PREY that it might be.  Based on the illustration, my guess is that this poster is for one of the two RAMBO-ish films starring a guy named Peter O'Brian. One film is the incredibly awesome, so-bad-it's-good flick THE INTRUDER (in which his character's name is Rambu instead of Rambo). His other is film is called THE STABILIZER (like a mix of RAMBO and THE EQUILIZER in Indonesia). But I'm not even sure of that is correct. The plane in the upper left corner throws me off. I don't recall seeing it in any of them. Perhaps there are even more outrageous RAMBO ripoffs out there? Any ideas?

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 6: JASON LIVES:

I already have a copy of this, but it is for one of the better films in the series and, hello? It was uber cheap.

FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 8: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN (Advance):

This is the recalled advance for F138...  I already have a copy or two of this as well. But this came with the Part 6 poster above and they were both super cheap. SOLD.

THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE and IN THE DEVIL'S GARDEN (re-release combo):

I already have a copy of this poster as well,,,but the coloring is different on my other copy. Mine is black and the darker green only. The lighter green on this poster is all the darker green (I think...) or perhaps it is a different shade of green. Something about this is different color-wise. But either way, it is still a cool poster. IN THE DEVIL'S GARDEN (1971) was originally known as ASSAULT, but underwent a title change to sound more diabolical for its re-release pairing up with THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE (1972) after the success of THE EXORCIST.

    PITUITARY HUNTER (!?!) (Thai):

Holy crap. What is this gross-out, gonzo Thai (?) movie? PITUITARY HUNTER? With a picture of a person with part of their skull removed, a bared brain and a needle poking into it? Zowie! You don't see junk like that on American one sheets. Ha! Bizarre-o-rama! It was cheap-ish, so SOLD!

    FACES OF DEATH 4 (Thai):

I had no idea any of the FACES OF DEATH flicks ever played theatrically anywhere. Although they are partially faked "shockumentaries" (with real news/police footage as well), they are not my cup o' tea at all. However, when I saw this, I knew it must be rare. I am looking at movie posters all of the time and have never before seen one for any of the FACES OF DEATH flicks. Ever. So, I snatched this one up. Freaky image.

LEGEND OF HORROR and DIABOLIC WEDDING (combo):

This is a super looking double feature poster. I have no idea what MAGICMATION might be--and yet, BOTH films are said to be in it. Golly gee. My only guess as to what MAGICMATION might be is how the films were made. Both are anthology films. LEGEND OF HORROR features a segment that was from an Argentinean film. (The rest was filmed in the USA). DIABOLIC WEDDING features a segment shot here in the US but the rest of the film was shot in Peru. Perhaps the MAGICMATION refers to the part American/Part South American nature of the films? I don't know. But I like the gimmick of MAGICMATION (whatever it might be) and it's kind of a fun double feature one sheet. Why not?

A VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD (Large French):

Here is my prize for this listing, a large-style French poster for Jess Franco's A VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD. Oh my stars! I have wanted one of these for years! The art on this is just incredible. Wow! Wow! WOW!!!  I can't believe I finally scored one. Yahoo!

And that is all for now, kiddies. I'll be back---but I am taking a long break from poster buying. Things have come up and I find I really must just step back for a bit until I get some issues settled and under control. I will still post if I have any interesting updates or projects to share, but as far as buying new posters---that will just have to wait. (In fact, I'll be doing just the opposite. One of the things I plan on doing during my "hiatus" is weeding out my collection and finding stuff to send to auction and/or sell on (fl)e(a)Bay.) In the mean time, I've been re-posting my posters (only have about 500 up so far---tons and tones more to go. UGH!) on Instagram. I didn't think I'd ever use Instagram, but it is a great way to see all of my posters all at once just by scrolling down. But, for some reason, I've already been banned from leaving descriptions on my posts or "liking" anything on my page or on anyone  else's. Ha! Anyway, check it out if you like. The link is HERE: https://www.instagram.com/theshockoramapostershow/

    Okay---it's cha-cha-cha time!

    Have a go-go groovy spring.

I'll see you here again sooner or later.

    CHEERS!

  • Hi there. Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. The last time we met, I announced that I was stepping back from poster shopping for a while---and was actually planning to weed out my collection and send stuff off to auction, as I was getting into dire financial straits. Then the coronavirus situation happened. Crap. Selling things is on hold. Because I am a nurse and will probably have to deal with the virus directly in the very near future, I decided to go ahead and prep the next Shock-O-Rama Poster Show (even though there isn't much in it) in case I get sick. I am older, with underlying health issues and male...in other words, I fit the profile of 70% of those who have died so far. Yep, I'm SCREWED.

Is this my swan song? I certainly hope NOT. It's not the best example to go out on. We will have to wait and see (but if I never post again--um--you'll know why...).

Let's take a look and see what (CRAP) I have today...

WHO IS KILLING THE GREAT CHEFS OF EUROPE:

This was part of a lot of posters all containing the word "Who" in the title. It is a dull poster and I am sure I have another copy somewhere. This is not even a shot of the actual poster---just one to fill the void for now. The auction house didn't bother to take a photo of it---that's how unexciting this poster is. Oh well.

    WHO SLEW AUNTIE ROO?:

I have a copy of this already. Shelly Winters, Mark Lester, Ralph Richardson and Lionel Jeffries star in this forgettable early 70s horror.

    WHO KILLED TEDDY BEAR?:

Sal Mineo and Juliet Prowse star in this flick (and poster). I've never seen the flick (I can't find it) but have heard good things about it. Any good?  (Never mind. Found a bootleg DVD place online that has it and I've given it an order...)

    HALLOWEEN (2007 remake):

This (and the 2 below) were at auction and I scored them for $1 (with a $19 buyer's premium, of course). I was NO FAN of the Rob Zombie HALLOWEEN flicks, but I do have to say that the poster for the 2007 HALLOWEEN was nicely done.  I have one already...but why not a cheap extra copy? Why not indeed.

    HALLOWEEN 2 (2009 remake teaser):

I disliked the HALLOWEEN remake, but the HALLOWEEN 2 remake was beyond awful. What the hell was with that ghost horse???  HUH???  Whatever...

    HALLOWEEN 2 (2009 remake advance):

This is the reason I bought the three HALLOWEEN poster lot. NOT that I liked the movie (HATED IT), but although I am sure I have the other style of poster for this sequel, I am NOT sure I had this style. I do now. DONE.

    HOUSE OF EXORCISM:

I love my EXORCIST ripoffs. My fave would be BEYOND THE DOOR, probably...but this one is a close 2nd. Mario Bava is uncredited as the director because his film, LISA AND THE DEVIL, (although it is a nifty film as it is) was deemed unreleasable. It taken back, re-tooled, had some new exorcism crap added in and a different ending added on and voila...HOUSE OF EXORCISM. Telly Savalas walks around with a lollipop as a creepy butler. Elke Sommer goes full on Linda Blair and vomits up frogs. Robert Alda (Alan's dad) is the exorcist. It's very Italian/European, but also very different. I have one of these posters already...but this one went for only $1 (plus the $19 buyer's premium). Zowie! Why buy it? Was it the power of Christ compelling me or did the devil make me do it? Either way, I am happy to have yet another copy.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Advance):

Did I need this? It was just affordable, so...into the future resell pile it goes. (Hmm... How long before the newer STAR WARS titles start to get pricey? Or will they?) Eh... probably wasted the cash on this one. Oh well...

BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH (Australian daybill):

I had never heard of this flick before stumbling on to this daybill. Vincent Price stars (or perhaps it is just a glorified cameo?). I appreciate the double meaning in the tag line: "The movie that took a lot of guts to make." Clever... I can't seem to find a release of it over here though. Hmm.

    S.O.S. TIDAL WAVE:

I am most excited about this poster. As a big disaster movie fan, I was delighted to finally snag a copy of the one sheet for this 1939 flick. It is actually available on BluRay and I just got a copy, so hopefully I'll get to watch it very soon. I'm NOT expecting much, but am still thrilled I'll get to see it.

That is all I have this time.

I hope you are all healthy and that you can avoid COVID 19 like, well... avoid it like the plague.

Stay safe. Social distance. WASH YOUR HANDS. Stay ALIVE.

    CHEERS!

  • Another entertaining post to be sure (congrats on the SOS Tidal Wave), but I really hope YOU can stay safe, healthy and virus-free. Nurses are unsung heroes under normal circumstances, but presently it's likely one of the most dangerous and exhausting professions there are. It's all but impossible to social distance in a hospital environment, so I hope your guardian angel is riding shotgun with you. Take care of yourself the best you can.  :)
  • Dang, another entertaining post with a great social  message.
    !!!!!
  • Adding my positive waves out there, hoping you stay safe and healthy.
Will this finally teach us the real value of people like you to us as a society?  I bloody hope so.
Pretty sure we will be fine without over paid CEOs but positive we would be in real shit without our health care workers.  I read somewhere if we dont take care of you guys, it will be a generation before are able to rebuild the health sector.  Best of luck!
  • Great updates!
  • Greetings! Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. I really have no money right now and have no business buying anything. However, my birthday was coming up (It's TODAY, actually). As I will spend this birthday alone, trapped in my house with the world held hostage by the coronavirus outbreak, I thought I'd buy myself a few little tidbits and make it a somewhat fun birthday party for one. (And to think, last year I was celebrating in Rome! Ha!)  Oh well. It is what it is...and I'm NOT dead (yet). So, whoo hoo  and happy birthday to me.

Rockabilly777: Thank you for those kind words of encouragement to all of those dealing with this crisis in the hospital setting. How did you know I was a nurse? Ha! Stay sheltered.

Matt: Hi there---and I hope you stay safe.  :)

theartofmovieposters:  Thank you also for those kind words of reinforcement. Who outed me as a nurse? Ha! Did I do it myself? Hmm. Wash your hands.

Rick: Thank you!  :) Social distance.

Okay... Let's unwrap my poster presents and see what exciting (or not so exciting...) things I got myself...

    CHARLIE'S ANGELS (2019 reboot):

UGH!!! Buying this was a total accident. Sure, although I was NOT a fan of the 2019 reboot of CHARLIE'S ANGELS (it had potential, but...), I loved the original series as a kid, I loved the first reboot with Drew Barrymore (the sequel---eh...), and I actually liked the short-lived remake series that was on 3 or 4 years ago. I did bid on this. As an ANGELS fan in general, I thought it would be nice to have (and is better than the version I scored a while back). So how was buying this an accident if I bid on it? I'll tell you... My computer (desktop) has that auto fill feature, which is sometimes great and sometimes a disaster. I meant to bid $13 at the very most (expecting it to go less than $10 really). When I later checked my bids to see what I was winning, what I was losing and what my top bid amount was, I was startled to see that instead of $13 for CHARLIE'S ANGELS, it said my top bid was $137. CRAP!!!  But I calmed down. CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2019? Who would want it? And then it bumped up from $7 to $10...and then $10 to $13. Eek!  There was no action after that and it got closer and closer to ending...about a minute to go and then $15. Yikes!  The auction reset to five minutes and started counting down again. It was near zero and then...$19. ARGH!!!! Fortunately it did NOT go higher than that---but I so did NOT mean to buy this for that price. Crap...

    THE LOST WORLD OF SINBAD:

I have another copy or two of this floating around. Did I need another? NO! UGH! Why do I always do this? GRR. Anyway, for those who may not know, this film is not really a Sinbad flick. It is a Japanese fantasy that has Sinbad-like qualities, so a distributor (American International Pictures) bought it, redubbed and turned it into a Sinbad story. (A similar thing happened to a non-Sinbad Russian folktale movie, SADKO, that magically transformed into a Sinbad flick and was released here as THE MAGIC VOYAGE OF SINBAD.)

    INVASION OF THE BLOOD FARMERS:

I have a couple of copies of this poster. This flick isn't that well known and is certainly low budget,  but I dig it. Fun poster too. Someone also told me that the guy who directed this also played the yeti monster in SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED. Ha! That is too funny.

LIGHTHOUSE and EVIL DEAD (2002 re-release British quad):

While I  am not familiar with LIGHTHOUSE,  I do know THE EVIL DEAD, of course.  So I thought I should get this... But...it's not the most exciting quad ever. Oh well....

    GALACTIC GIGOLO:

I stumbled on this cheap poster from an Urban Classics release. Urban Classics is that studio that pumped out films like SLAVEGIRLS FROM BEYOND INFINITY and SORORITY BABES IN THE SLIMEBALL BOWL-A-RAMA during the VHS era, with many of their movies, like this one apparently,  getting theatrical releases.  I'd never heard of this title though. Any good?

HIGH VOLTAGE (aka THE ELECTRIC CHAIR):

This is a smaller-sized one sheet, cheaply printed. I'm not sure if this is re-release with a re-titling or an original release with an alternate title. Either way,  I'm delighted to have a piece of cinematic sleaze history.  This film is notorious for its cheapness and exploitation factor. Wish I could track it down and see it. Oooo! Look and ye shall find. Apparently Code Red released this on BluRay a while back and there was one waiting for me uber-cheap on eBay. Fabulous!

    HAWK, THE SLAYER (British quad):

I came across this recently but have never seen the movie. I quickly read about it before I bought the poster. It sounds like bad movie paradise.  I snatched it up and am anxious to see the flick. Is it the wondrous crapfest I hope it is? The DVD is on its way to me, so I can find out for myself. Yippie!

    DRACULA 3-D:

I already have a bad copy of this poster. It is a bad copy because it got seriously munched in the mail and I've been after one ever since. I've not seen Dario Argento's DRACULA 3D, but I have heard it's no SUSPIRIA. I've actually heard it's crap. BUT it IS an Argento film and, sucker that I am for gimmicks, it's a poster for a 3D film. I'm happy to finally get a nice copy.

    FROM BEYOND (Spanish):

long while back, I accidentally bought a pressbook (instead of a poster) for the Spanish release of FROM BEYOND with this same artwork. At the time, I thought I WAS buying a poster. Oops. I blame it on my lack of understanding of Spanish. But who cares now that I actually DO have the poster? Ha! Wild, way-out art. Freaky cool.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1978 re-release British quad):

Zowie! Just a few weeks (months?) back, I bought one of these that turned out to be a fake reprint. I got a refund from the seller (who later said he had gotten it from T.LocePosters. Duh! Beware!), but I still wanted this particular poster. Lo' and behold...one fell into my lap-o-rama the other evening. Hooray! I trust this one is legit as it is coming from Heritage. Happy birthday, self.

And that is it for now. Nothing super exciting (except I really wanted that NOTLD poster. Hooray!), but... Thanks for joining me for my virtual birthday. I hope you had a swell time. I know I did.

    CHEERS!

PS You may want to give my Instagram a visit. It's at: https://www.instagram.com/theshockoramapostershow/

  • Happy birthday, our west coast tiki lovin' poster homey! Here's hoping that despite the world collapsing in on itself, that your day is enjoyable and filled with fun and surprises! Well, as many as being sequestered can provide anyway. It's good to see that you're hanging in there health-wise. Keep taking care of yourself and those you care about, and like you said, wash those hands.  :)
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I was thinking of you the other day, as we hadn't heard from you in a bit.
Glad to see you aok :)
  • Happy Birthday buddy! Just to let you know, I washed my hands before I typed this. :)
  • rockabilly777:  Thank you for the birthday greeting. Believe it or not, I had the most incredible day yesterday. It was certainly the best-ever birthday in isolation I've ever had. I was amazed at all of the calls, texts, emails, cards and gifts---where did they all come from? WOW! You guys here wishing me a super day was the icing on the cake.

theartofmovieposters: I'm a-okay...And super glad to see that you are as well. STAY THAT WAY. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Matt:  Thank you so much---for the birthday wishes and for washing those hands.  ;)

CHEERS to you all and THANK YOU again.
  • Welcome back to the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. Tonight's show is about ready to launch. You may want to grab a snack...or maybe something a little stronger? This one is going to be a tough one to sit through. It's a total crap fest. SNORE!

    Okay--let's get this done ASAP...

    TWO WEEKS IN SEPTEMBER:

My 2nd or 3rd (4th?) Brigitte Bardot poster...and, I'm sorry, but the posters for her films are not that eye catching. Blah.

    TEEN VAMP:

I had never heard of this, but the poster was cheap and rolled. I do like the license plate on the car, "BLOODMBL". Clever. The poster kind of makes it look like Archie goes vampire...RIVERDALE meets VAMPIRE DIARIES, perhaps?

    SAMSON AND DELILAH (1968 re-release):

Normally I would have passed on a biblical epic poster (snore). However, I think this 1968 re-release poster is trying to ride on the coattails of the HERCULES/peplum/gladiator flicks of the 60s--which I think are a hoot (more or less). Plus it was super cheap so...why not?

    BAD CHANNELS (Video):

Oh my stars. Ha! This is a bad (cheesy bad) Charles Band schlockfest from the 80s about an alien (that pile of poop-looking guy under the word "channels") who becomes a DJ at a small town radio station to find women to send back to his planet. Huh? Exactly! MTV original VJ Martha Quinn stars. Yes, this is a video poster. I don't believe this flick ever had a theatrical release (but I may be wrong...).

    NETHERWORLD (video):

Yes, this is a video poster. I don't believe this flick ever played theatrically either. I saw this back in the day on VHS. I remember specifically renting this from The Video Zone. Ha! The poster is cool looking. The movie? Not so much... Oh well. It is nostalgia for me (and was cheap--less than $5. Ha!)

    THE CRAVING:

This US release poster for one of Paul Naschy's werewolf flick is better known as NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF. I somehow completely missed this release in the early 80s. Did it even play in my town? Probably not. Rolled poster--not bad. (Director Jack Molina is also Naschy).

    THE EVICTORS:

I only just recently saw this flick. It was a bonus movie on the 2-disc release of the original THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN (which I also just watched for the first time). Both films (by Charles (THE LEGEND OF BOGEY CREEK) Pierce were good--but not great--with SUNDOWN being the better of the two. Still, when I came across this poster and saw that it was going cheap, I thought why not?

    GIDGET:

You are probably shaking you head over this. GIDGET? Really? Yes, really. I am a fan of the Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello BEACH PARTY movie series. If it weren't for the success of GIDGET (the film and the book series), the BEACH PARTY series may never have happened. Sandra Dee stars as the Girl mIDGET (get it?). Cliff Robertson is the Big Kahuna. James Darren is Moondoggy, the only original actor to star in all three films in the GIDGET series. (And, yes, I have posters for GIDGET GOES HAWAIIAN and GIDGET GOES TO ROME). Fun fact--GIDGET is based on a real person, the daughter of novelist Frederick Kohner.

CLASS OF 1999 (video one sheet):

This is a sequel to THE CLASS OF 1984 (from 1982). Yes, it is a video poster. I liked it better than the one sheet (but the European version is way better than this one). This film was kind of TERMINATOR meets ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK in my eye. This poster was also cheap---like most of the other stuff in my post today. I really need to bow out of poster buying for a while (as I had planned before the virus hit). I'm trying to finish this batch o' 10 posters off as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Hence, this video poster and a lot of the other crap-ola I'm sharing today...

THE WOLF MAN (1962 military re-release):

Wow! WOW! W-O-W!!! Getting any paper on Universal's classic monsters is impossible and totally out of my price range/grasp. Even the re-release stuff is insanely high. The military stuff was more reasonable, but even that is now expensive. I almost had to pass on this, but I was sure I'd never have another chance at this. It was far more than I could afford right now---but I could NOT let it go-go. (Blame it on a full moon, perhaps?) This is my first WOLF MAN anything. Zowie! And what a classic horror cast!?! Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Evelyn Ankers, Claude Rains, Ralph Belamy, Maria Duspenskaya. And it's a tri-fold in super condition. This WILL be framed and hanging on my walls ASAP. (Who ever thought anyone could be this excited over a military poster? Ha!)

Thank you for visiting. I will be back with projects and other news, but it will probably be a long while before I'm back with new posters. Stay SAFE!

That's all for now. It's time for me to blast off and get outta here.

    CHEERS!

  • Martha Quinn acted in a movie?? Who knew? Ahhh, the good ol' days. Nice crapfest selection! Congrats on The Wolf Man! With regards to the other posters, being able to score inexpensive ones is part of the fun of the hobby. Sometimes it ain't all about high dollar, super impressive ones. Glad to hear you had a great birthday. With your recent handful of challenges, you certainly deserved one.  :)

rockabilly777: I thought I'd jump on and thank you for your comments instead of waiting for my next post to do so---because who knows when that will be? Yes, cheap posters can be fun. The ones I got (except for the Bardot and maybe TEEN VAMP) in this last post were all fun cheapos of one kind or another. (Well, GIDGET was cheaper than it should have been---but not cheap. THE WOLF MAN cost far more than I wanted to pay, but...) They'll make me happy until they don't---if that makes any sense. And I'll be back soon---not with new posters, but with new poster projects around the house.

    Take care of yourself.

Welcome to another edition of the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show. It's a bargain basement smorgasbord today, filled with several "lot" purchases and posters of "iffy" quality. But I'm broke. You've got to take what you can get, right? I actually have 11 in this batch (instead of the usual 10). Because so many are "lot" titles and there's nothing spectacular to see anyway, I just threw all 11 in to this post just to get them out of the way...

Okay, we might as well get this over with. Let's take a look...

    IGLOO:

This poster has some issues, but...IGLOO? Who ever even HEARD of this flick before? This is one of the "lot" posters, of course. See the mom Eskimo with two suckling babes? I am sure that was put on the poster to draw some sort of audience into this. Zzzzzz I'm bored just thinking of what this movie must be like.

    ISLAND OF LOST WOMEN:

This poster looks familiar. I may have another copy. This was a "lot" purchase (as I am sure the other copy---should I have one--was as well).

    THE MIGHTY JUNGLE:

I do know I have another copy of this poster. I like this poster---but have not seen the flick. This is another "lot" poster.

    THE WORLD'S GREATEST LOVER (Advance):

I love the silent movie era look of this advance poster. I love Gene Wilder, but believe it or not, this is the only one of his films I have never seen--and he wrote/directed it. This is an advance style (Note the "Coming for Christmas" tag on the bottom).

    WATCH ME WHEN I KILL:

US poster for the Italian import giallo flick. I have a couple of copies of this. They're usually so cheap...but really? Why spend the money again? I don't know why I do that all of the time...

    RETURN OF CAPTAIN MARVEL (re-release):

I might already have one of these, but I'm not so sure. This is a re-release poster for the old serial RETURN OF CAPTAIN MARVEL. However, it seems that they showed all 12 chapters of the serial at once---so you could see the complete story. Over 4 hours? Zowie! (Or should I say "Shazam"?)

    STRANGER IN HOLLYWOOD:

I laughed out loud when I read some of the verbiage on here. "You can't call me a tramp yet...I just got to town mister!" Ha! A true uptight story of a girl on the loose.... makes it sound like a sleazy sexploitation classic, right? It is advertised as if it were one. However, I have since looked this up. Although there is no rating shown on the poster, this thing was rated PG (well, actually, it was "GP" back in those weird early years of the ratings system...). It's about a girl who gets rich and leaves her life behind to run to Hollywood and have fun. It's probably a turd, but I did like the (cheap) poster.

    MUTANT (a.k.a. FORBIDDEN WORLD):

When I got this poster, I was thinking it was for the 1984 Wings Hauser schlockfest. But then I realized it was a retitling of FORBIDDEN WORLD from 1982. I had not seen this poster before. Kind of cheap but kind of cool.

    WHAT THE PEEPER SAW:

Britt Ekland and Mark Lester star in WHAT THE PEEPER SAW, the Italian psychological thriller from the early 70s.

    SAVAGE MUTINY:

Johnny Weissmuller was the first speaking TARZAN. When he got too old for the part, he turned to playing adventurer JUNGLE JIM in a string of films. The posters for JUNGLE JIM movies seem almost as hard to find as the TARZAN posters (if not more so). This one is in pretty rough--but passable--shape. I don't think i had ever seen this poster before...so I snagged it when I came across it.

    THE ELECTRONIC LOVER:

This is really a lame poster---but it is in great condition. What the hell is it? It is an obscure nudie from the mid-60s that I became aware of thanks to SOMETHING WEIRD video. The "electronic lover" of the title is a big machine (basically a TV) that broadcasts intimate time of various women when they are alone---like a high tech (for the day) peeping tom. It really is not worth your time....but it had a poster? As lame as it is, I wasn't letting it get away. This is a rarity. (At least, I don't recall seeing any others before...)

And that's our show for today. Really. That's it. I told you it was a bargain basement lot-riddled mess. You really should have cleaned out your navel lint instead of bothering to read through it.

Like last time, I don't anticipate being back again any time soon (with a new purchases post, that is)...unless I come up with more low budget trash like today's offering.

See ya next time, whenever that might be...

    CHEERS!

  • Peepers and superheros and tramps - oh my! And that's not even mentioning TAMBA the talented chimp! Woo Hoo! What's not to like? Great batch-o-schlock! (and a wonderful sprinkling of Melies too!  :)  )
  • rockabilly777: My my my...what sharp little eyes you've got. I didn't even mention Tamba.,.and you spotted her in the poster credits. Ha! This was such a nothing post---I just slapped whatever else (gifs/pics) up (What ARE those weird mask-headed people clips from?). Glad you like/spotted the Melies. I was going to do all Melies, but I thought I'd save them for a better post.

  • edited May 2020

Welcome back! Despite the marquee, this edition of the Shock-O-Rama Poster Show is NOT going to be a "thriller." Ha! I boo boo-ed again. I've been kind of down about a lot of things lately. So, what do I go and do? Spend WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on several lots from eMovieposter. EEK! Most of the posters are beyond crap (and will never make it into a post). The ones below are, to my taste, somewhat tolerable.

Take a look or run back to the ticket booth now and beg for your money back. Once we get started, there will be no refunds given.

Ready? Set? SNORE...I mean, here we GO-GO!

    BONNIE'S KIDS:

I've not seen this flick, but I have seen the poster pop up now and again. I have never really paid much attention to it, thinking (originally) that is was some sort of sexploitation knockoff  wannabe"sequel" to BONNIE AND CLYDE...but the car and the clothes are too modern (well, for 1972) for that. So...I don't know what to make of this. As I said, I haven't seen it. I got this in one of my recent lot purchases. But it does have genre vets Tiffany Bolling and Alex Rocco, so it could be interesting.

    ALMOST HUMAN:

I have another of these somewhere (I think). This was a lot purchase for the Umberto Lenzi flick one sheet. Creepy cool image, at least. Henry Silva and Ray Lovelock are in it. Too bad it's a cop/crime drama (and NOT a horror movie, which it looks like it should be).

    I WANT WHAT I WANT:

I know nothing about this sex change (?) or cross dresser (?) flick. This was (surprise! Not.) another lot purchase. I don't know who star Anne Heywood is, but I wondered if she were really a he (or a former he), so I looked her up. Nope. She's a she.. Perhaps they borrow from the HOMICIDAL playbook and have Anne play a boy who becomes a girl, as they (spoiler) did in the William Castle flick? (Jean Arless aka Joan Marshall was the crossdressing psychopath in the Castle flick). It could be fun, but looks like it would be too melodramatic and schmaltzy, like a late night movie on Lifetime or something...but certainly no GLEN OR GLENDA? Lot purchase.

    ROSEMARY'S KILLER:

Hmm. This is NOT the best looking poster ever. I am delighted with it though. It's the one sheet for a movie better known as THE PROWLER on home video. (Apparently it was also known as THE PITCHFORK OF DEATH at one point. Ha! LOVE that title!) I saw this back in the day on VHS. Farley Granger is in it, but the REAL draw is that the special effects were done by TOM SAVINI. Cult fave Joseph Zito directed it.

    HALLOWEEN H20:

I had this already, of course. Now I have several. ARGH! While HALLOWEEN H20 is one of the better sequels in the series, it is one of the lamest posters and, I believe, the first in the series to feature photoshopped heads of the actors instead of real artwork. Because it is one of the better films in the series, I go this poster lot (10 copies of the same thing--HA!) to help in selling some of the crap off in lots of my own on eBay (If I ever get off of my butt and do it. How long have I been saying I was going to do that? Months? YEARS?? Ha!) Whatever...

    MOTHER GOOSE' BIRTHDAY PARTY:

I love my kiddie matinee posters...and this one is from K. Gordon Murray, one of the best (er, most notorious?) I have another copy of this somewhere. I remember going to battle bidding on the other copy of this sucker because I had to have it. Now I have this other copy from a lot purchase. Ha! I'm such a dork... In rainbow color. Free prizes to all!

    INSEMINOID:

I am reasonably sure I have a copy of this already. Do I? Hmm. I know I have the (better) alternate poster with the woman giving birth in the halls of a spaceship. Zowie! This is an ALIEN ripoff. I saw this a zillion years ago (back in the VHS days, of course). I should track it down and see it again. Stephanie Beacham (DRACULA A.D. 1972, AND NOW THE SCREAMING STARTS, and DYNASTY) stars with Victoria Tennant and Judy Geeson.

    EVILS OF THE NIGHT:

I am pretty sure I have one of these. This is a fun poster. Notice the faux, wannabe Millennium Falcon? Ha! Craptastic flick-and just look at that cast! Neville Brand, Aldo Ray, Julie Newmar, John Carradine, and Tina Louise. Zowie!!!

    STORY BOOK TEA PARTY:

This was a lot purchase...but, believe it or not, THIS poster was why I bid and bid and BID. I had to have this. I don't believe I've ever seen this crappy kiddie matinee poster before. Like MOTHER GOOSE' BIRTHDAY PARTY, this mess (I haven't seen it, but I am familiar with these films in general) was presented by kiddie matinee / imported Mexican horror movie guru, K. Gordon Murray. Whoo hoo! I LOVE this!

ALLIGATOR (aka THE GREAT ALLIGATOR) (small French):

Out of all of the posters in this posting, this is the only one that was NOT a lot purchase. Yep, I bought this French poster for ALLIGATOR on its own. This is cheesy bad Italian JAWS ripoff (filmed in Sri Lanka) with a giant fake alligator munching on tourists at a resort run by Mel Ferrer. Barbara (from THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, THE UNSEEN, and Mrs. Ringo Starr) Bach and Richard (THE HAUNTING, BEYOND THE DOOR, ZOMBIE) Johnson also star. Directed by Sergio (TORSO, ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK, THE WHIP AND THE BODY, and SLAVE OF THE CANNIBAL GOD) Martino. And--zowie! There's a naked lady (no peeking!) on the poster. Ha!

That's ten...and that is all for this posting. Next time (which will be very, very soon), there'll be even more (WORSE) lot purchases. I know you can't wait. (NOT! HA!)

    Thanks for visiting.

    CHEERS!

PS Come and say HELLO on Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/theshockoramapostershow/

  • Best Family Films Award - Parent Approved! Christmas, New Years and 4th of July all in one afternoon! If only Disney had marketing that good. Another great batch from the fringes of cinema history. Nicely curated as always.
  • Welcome back...  If you paid attention last time (if you bothered to visit last time, that is), you would know that I recently bought several "lots" of assorted posters. So today, it's more of the good, the bad, and the ugly (and how!) from those lots. Stomach distress may occur (from such a lack of taste or anything interesting to look at), so you may want to have a receptacle handy. The management in know way takes responsibility (kind of like our president) if this presentation drives you to drink heavily or abuse yourself in other ways. This isn't quite the bottom of the barrel, but CLOSE to it.

Rockabilly777: Hi there! Thank you ever so much for visiting and leaving a note. I always dig it when you come by. Get ready for another trip through the "fringes of cinema history" (and utter obscurity). You may need some Alka Seltzer. Just sayin'. Today's post is B-A-D! You've been warned. CHEERS, though.

Okay, without further adieu, here are the posters...

    KISS ME, KILL ME:

Oh my stars! This is some of the WORST poster art I have ever seen (so, of course, I had to share it). What were the studio execs thinking? Did someone have a kid that they thought was an artistic genius or something? Yikes! Robert Carradine and Linda Hamilton should have sued over their likenesses...or lack there of. The more I looked at this mess (which was included in a lot purchase, of course), the more I found to be surprised about. Kristine DeBell was in this? And...directed by Nick Castle? THE Nick Castle? "The Shape" from the original HALLOWEEN? Huh? Sure enough, it was him...and this poster is a bogus re-titling of TAG: THE ASSASSINATION GAME. Why isn't that movie available? I remember reading about it years ago. I  wanted to see it, but it never came to town. As far as I know, it has only been made available on DVD via bootleg companies. What's the problem? Is it as bad as this poster? I've actually heard and read good things about it. Why was it "assassinated" from home video? Hmm.

    BILL AND COO:

Oh lord...this looks just awful. And this is a "special Academy Award winner"? What did it win? Most unbelievable crap? I like my kiddie matinee posters...but this isn't quite that. Featuring Burton's Love Birds and Jimmy the Crow. Zowie! Where are the sequels? UGH. (Yes--this is a lot purchase.)

    THE RUNAWAY:

I have no idea what this movie is like. Another lot purchase. "Not wanted by two countries! A bordertown boy and a pup from a bad littler!" Jinkies! I hope he doesn't end up in one of Trump's migrant detention centers. This movie looks like it is probably overly melodramatic ("Share the excitement...the laughter...the tears"). It'd probably make me wanna barf...or at least gag heavily. Ha! This flick seems to be pretty much forgotten. Who has ever even heard of this? I found it on IMDB. This quote was in the trivia section: "About 80% of the script was filmed with a crew of five with a stand-in for Cesar Romero." Ha! (Of course, the trivia section says the film was never released and ended up just going to TV...which makes no sense because I have the poster. But whatever...) Oh well--it's a bit of movie obscura from 1961. And it stars Mike, the world's fastest dog! Zowie! Ha!

This part of the poster had me doing a double take? "A search to find someone...somewhere...to love!" Oh my! Does Cesar Romero play a (gasp!) pedophile in this or something? SHOCKING!!! Oh... Double take... DUH! The kid needs someone. He's a runaway. I get it. I guess my 21st century mindset has me a bit jaded...

DEADEYE DEWEY AND THE ARKANSAS KID:

This was a lot purchase...and also, it turns out, a poster for a Charles B. Pierce movie (under a different name). Pierce is best known for THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREAK (his first film) and THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN. This flick (starring Chuck Pierce Jr.) was his second film and is better known as BOOTLEGGERS (it even mentions it was previously called that below the title here). Original CHARLIE'S ANGELS star Jaclyn Smith is in this. Odd little curio for fans of Pierce's work.

    OPERATION CAMEL:

Another lot item. I know nothing about the movie, but found the poster fun. And, darn it all... I recognize the artist's work from other things, but I can NOT remember who it is. ARGH! Starring no one you've ever heard of. Hmm. Most of the names look foreign. Perhaps it's an import? An American International Picture imported a lot. Yep. I just looked it up. It is Danish. The original version was in color. The release here was in glorious (aka cheap-o) black and white. Good ol' A.I.P.--gotta stretch that dollar!

    INVASION OF THE FLESH HUNTERS:

I'm pretty sure I have this already. There are two posters for INVASION OF THE FLESH HUNTERS (actually there are three, if you count it's better/alternate title, CANNIBALS IN THE STREETS). This is the least interesting of them. Ha! Genre fave John Saxon stars.

    CHINO:

I was never (Gasp!) a big Charles Bronson fan. I've never seen CHINO (this was a lot purchase, of course). His wife, Jill Ireland, co-stars. The poster says it is a "Dino DeLaurentiis film" yet right next to that it says "produced and directed by John Sturges". Okay...

    BREATHLESS:

I'm fairly certain I have one of these as well... Richard Gere, hot on the heels of his success in AMERICAN GIGOLO and AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN returned in the remake of the 1960 French film of the same name (In France, it was called A BOUT DE SOUFFLE). The film did have some cool style. The poster...eh.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF TIME:

This was a lot poster--and kind of lame looking...but I am so thrilled to get this. I've been wanting one for a while. Yes this film is essentially a remake/ripoff of THE TIME TRAVELERS from three years earlier--but this is still cheesy in its own fun way. And the poster is so bargain basement craptastic--I love it! (Although the poster for THE TIME TRAVELERS is way better...).

    ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON:

I believe I have another copy of this ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON poster. This was a lot purchase as well...but this poster is, at least, cool. The skull-headed cop aiming a gun at you is classic. Have I seen this film? No...but it looks like exploitation heaven.

Okay kiddies, that is the show for the day. Total crap-o-rama.. I hope you were able to stomach it all and endure. The sad thing is that I still have a LOT more lot purchases to post...and many of them are just as bad as some of those that appeared today. (There are worse ones, believe it or not, but I will SPARE you having to wade through those...) I'll see you next time (if you dare to return, that is...). Thank you, as always, for visiting.

    CHEERS!

  • Hello and welcome back. "Show of the century"? Is that what you are expecting? Um... I suppose if it is the only poster show you see in a century, it would be the "show of the century"...but otherwise? Uh... Um... Well... Not everything lives up to its hype. In other words, get ready to be utterly disappointed!

Yes, it's more of my lot purchases, curated pointlessly (as who is going to bother to read my blather for such uninteresting posters?) and proudly (NOT) displayed for your viewing...uh, enjoyment (or something like that).

Yeah...I'd skip out about now if I were you. Move along. Move along. You ain't missin' much here.

Okay...if you truly are a glutton for punishment and you really want to see what horrors...er, fine pieces of cinematic promotional art I have in store for you today, let's begin... (But don't say I didn't warn you.)

A DAY AT THE WHITE HOUSE:

I knew nothing about this lot purchase poster. I had never even heard of the flick. Thinking it was some silly sex comedy from the early 70's, I looked it up on IMDB. Oh my stars! It sounds jaw-droppingly bizarre...but I'm guessing it must be really, REALLY awful as something like this would surely find a distributor on DVD/BluRay today. The description reads:

"A woman sent by the President of the United States to infiltrate and bring down the Los Angeles porn industry instead falls in love with the well-endowed founder of the city's only rental house for animal sex performers."

I'm NOT kidding. Look it up yourself. Ha!  The only cast member I recognized on IMDB was Lori Saunders from PETTICOAT JUNCTION. The bulk of the others seem to be character actors, but no one I recognize.

At least the art is kind of fun... (or not.)

    GET ROLLIN':

I got one of these a few years ago (I've actually had several come my way, I think...). Has anyone ever seen this flick? When i got my first copy, I was kind of jazzed in a campy way. It looked like a roller disco movie (i.e. ROLLER BOOGIE, SKATETOWN USA, XANADU) that I hadn't heard of. It might be a hoot.

Wikipedia said it was about roller disco---but was a documentary. (!?!) IMDB also lists it as a documentary/drama and gave a bit more detail with this brief description:

"The story of 'Pat the Cat' Richardson, Vincent 'Vinzerrelli' Brown and Inez Daniels, three people whose colorful lives revolve around the local roller rink in Brooklyn."

Other sources say that the movie follows certain individuals whose dream it is to be professional roller disco stars. Oh my... The movie must be a hoot. Too bad that roller disco was already a faded fad by 1980 when this came out. I was too young for the roller disco thang. I was barely in my teens when it was popular. But I would love to see the film. It would bring me so much joy, I think -- for all of the wrong reasons.

    WILD WILD WINTER:

It's a BEACH PARTY ripoff (or, perhaps a SKI PARTY ripoff, which came the year before) set on skis in the winter. I have this poster already. This was another lot purchase. The film stars Gary Clarke, who was on THE VIRGINIANS. I never saw that. Instead, I know him best for stepping into Michael Landon's TEENAGE WEREWOLF shoes in the quasi-sequel HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER (with TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN's Gary Conway). The real reason to see this would be to see mid-60 pop stars JAY AND THE AMERICANS, THE BEAU BRUMMELS, DICK AND DEE DEE and THE ASTRONAUTS performing.

    NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR:

I'm fairly certain I already have a copy of this lot poster purchase...not that the art on it is all that interesting. John Phillip Law, Cameron Mitchell and Richard Moll (from TV's NIGHT COURT, but for some reason billed as Charles Moll) star. I saw this back in the VHS days. As I recall, the movie is made up of three unfinished films cut into shorter versions and presented as some sort of anthology. I remember that part but not that the bridging parts on the train (where the stories are being told) were between the devil and God (as I read on IMDB). Hmm. If I remember correctly, there was a band on the train, too...oh duh! They are mentioned in the poster's tag line. Ha! It was forgettable...but interesting that it apparently actually got a release into theaters.

    MAN FROM DEEP RIVER:

I have several copies of this poster. This copy was a lot purchase, of course. This is an Umberto Lenzi flick with Ivan Rassimov and Me Me Lay and is notorious for being the initial film in the cannibal sub-genre of Italian cinema of the 70s and 80s, even though there is no cannibalism in this flick. Also known as SACRIFICE.

    THE CREATURES:

Another lot poster purchase...but kind of a fun poster. Peter Cushing, Diana Dors,  Donald Pleasence, Lesley-Anne Down and David Warner star in this Amicus Productions anthology that may be better known as FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE.

    DEMON WITCH CHILD:

DEMON WITCH CHILD is Spanish filmmaker Amando de Ossorio's take on THE EXORCIST/possession movies. So, of course, I've seen it...and have the poster already. This was a lot purchase, but I have bought this poster a couple of times on its own (Why do I do that? UGH! Maybe I'm possessed? Ha!) De Ossorio is known for the four BLIND DEAD films. This film? Not such a big following... Oh well.

    I CROSSED THE COLOR LINE:

This is a minor exploitation classic by the late, great trash impresario Ted V. Mikels (THE CORPSE GRINDERS, ASTRO-ZOMBIES, etc.). This was a lot purchase and I would rather have the poster for the alternate title (THE BLACK KLANSMAN...not to be confused with Spike Lee's excellent BLACKKKLANSMAN), but I am super thrilled to have this one. Hooray! I'm sure audiences were shocked and outraged when this first came out in 1966. Ha! It's sad that stuff like what is depicted in the film actually happened (and probably still happens), but it is exploitation gold to me.

    INVASION OF THE FLESH HUNTERS:

I have this poster already. This was another lot purchase. I had previously posted the alternate poster for this film...which isn't nearly as nice. There is one more poster with the alternate title CANNIBALS IN THE STREET. John Saxon stars. As I recall, (I saw this back in the VHS days) this is the story of some Vietnam vets who were exposed to some chemical or other agent that turns them into out-of-their-minds cannibals. EEK! It isn't as good as it sounds. Ha!

This is the best poster for the film (I think).

And there you have it, ten more total trash...er, masterpieces of movie marketing. (Sooooo NOT TRUE!) And guess what? I have even MORE lot posters to share. Whoopie!

Thanks for visiting. I'll be back soon. (TOO soon.) (NO, that was NOT a threat...) You can stick along longer if you'd like. Hello? Hello? HELLO?

Hmm... Okay. See you next time.

    CHEERS!

  • Welcome back. You MUST be a glutton for punishment as I am still in the midst of dumping...er, gracefully sharing my recent lot poster purchases. There is nothing interesting to see. REALLY. Most of the posters in this post are copies of things I already had before from previous purchases, so I am basically sharing them again. But since you are here...and it is a bargain matinee day...go ahead and grab a seat. The show is about to begin...

    ESCAPE FROM DEATH ROW:

Another lot poster...and this one I include, not because it's a good movie (never seen it/heard of it) or even a good poster. I include it because it is another example of horrendous poster art. WHO approved this crap...or maybe I just never realized Lee Van Cleef had 16 arms before. (If you think there are only 8, look again. Each gun has two hands on it.) And what is the big fissure for? Is this part disaster movie or something? Miserable fail. (At least I think so...)

    CARNIVAL MAGIC:

I have a few copies of this---and this copy was an auction lot purchase. This flick was just recently re-issued on DVD/BluRay by Severin alone and/or as part of the Al Adamson Masterpiece Set. Al Adamson was a b-movie (or worse) director of such flicks as SATAN'S SADIST, BLOOD OF GHASTLY HORROR, BLAZING STEWARDESSES, and DRACULA VS FRANKENSTEIN. CARNIVAL MAGIC came towards the end of his career. It's a kiddie film more or less and stars Alexander the Great ("The Talking Chimpanze") and Don (Who?) Stewart (Star of CBS-TV's THE GUIDING LIGHT). The poster is colorful...but that is about it.

    THE BRIDE:

This is probably better known today under the moniker that Code Red released it as, LAST HOUSE ON MASSACRE STREET. It was also known as THE HOUSE THAT CRIED MURDER. I saw it a while back on some multi-movie set of public domain flicks, and yes....that's about where it belonged. This is a pretty forgettable horror yard about a psycho bride. The dead characters come back as non-spooky ghosts, if I remember correctly. It was pretty weak. The poster is the best part of the movie---and even that is not so great. But...this was from an auction lot purchase. What are you gonna do?

    TERROR AT RED WOLF INN:

Another forgotten horror flick. This was a lot poster purchase, but I already had a copy I believe. I'm sure I saw this and it was okay---but had a bad TV movie-like feel to it. Ha!  A bunch of young women are at an inn (more like someone's house) after receiving a free trip there. They become friends and are disappointed each morning when one of the bunch has had to leave early in the morning before anyone else (except for the kindly old couple who run the place) was awake. There's lots of meat at dinner, The old couple can't let their guests go hungry...

    TORSO:

I already had this poster...but...   I finally saw this not too long back...and was disappointed. I remember as a kid when this came out. Ooooo I so wanted to see it, but never got to. It was okay--but I think I had it so built up in my mind that seeing it finally was disappointing. It's an Italian flick from the early 70s--so expect that aspect of it. Directed by Sergio Martino.

    CRITTERS:

I already had this poster when I got this lot... It's such a bad poster for a fun movie that is more or less a GREMLINS knockoff. The title CRITTERS are hiding under the structure the people are standing on...and you can't even really see them. SNORE! Bad design, but no one asked me.

    GAME OF SURVIVAL:

I had this poster already...and the one for its re-titling, TENEMENT. Grindhouse legend Roberta Findlay directs. Media Blasters/Shriek Show have this out on an uncut BluRay with the combined title  TENEMENT: GAME OF SURVIVAL. It has a cult following.

    SAVAGE INTRUDER:

Vinegar Syndrome recently released this to DVD/BluRay under the alternate title (Did they come up with it?)  HOLLYWOOD HORROR HOUSE. This 1970 horror yarn stars Miriam Hopkins (she was in the original DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE with Fredric March in 1931) in her last film role...playing a former movie star. The Three Stooges' "Curly" Joe Besser and Gale Sondergarard (who was originally cast as the Wicked Witch of the West in the 1939 MGM version of THE WIZARD OF OZ before Victor Fleming was hired and thought she was far too glamorous for the role) also star. I have not seen it yet, but Vinegar Syndrome has a sale on this weekend and I ordered my copy. Yahoo! I have long wanted to give this a watch...

    CANNIBALS IN THE STREETS:

This is the alternate title for INVASION OF THE FLESH HUNTERS (which is the better title).  John Saxon stars. This poster is not that exciting, certainly not as good as one of the styles for the alternate title.

    THE CONCRETE JUNGLE:

This is another auction lot purchase...that I was actually thrilled to get. I've been wanting one of these--I may have one already, but I don't think so. Is there anything more exploitative than women in prison movies? This one stars Jill St. John (from the James Bond flick DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER), Peter Brown (RIDE THE WILD SURF and the TV series LAREDO), Nita Talbot (HOGAN'S HEROES and AMITYVILLE 1992: IT'S ABOUT TIME), and CAMILLE KEATON (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE and its sequel). The director is Tom DeSimone, who is known for a handful of minor exploitation classics (HELL NIGHT, REFORM SCHOOL GIRLS) but mostly for (usually gay) porn (THE IDOL, SONS OF SATAN and the 3D epic HEAVY EQUIPMENT). I know him best for the amazing sequence (the entire plane portion) in TERROR IN THE JUNGLE from 1968 that plays like a mini-precursor to the AIRPORT flicks that would come later. THE CONCRETE JUNGLE is a bit more upscale than most women in prison movies---but is still exploitation gold.

Okay. That's it for this time. I hope it wasn't too boring---but I did warn you. There will be more very soon. (Yes, I still have lots more lot purchases to share...EEK!) Thank you for being so attentive.

    CHEERS!

  • edited May 2020

Welcome back. Today's Shock-O-Rama Poster Show still finds us mired in auction lot purchase poster land...and we have some dismal (and not so dismal) posters to lay your eyes upon...if you bother to proceed.

The show is about to start. Please make your way to the theater. No running. Watch your step...

    WALK OF THE DEAD:

It took me a while to figure out what this movie really was. It was an auction lot purchase, of course. I have other copies of this from other lot purchases in the past. But WALK OF THE DEAD? Never heard of it other than the poster. Hmm. I saw the star was Richard Nashy...couldn't find him, but went with a hunch. Could it be Spanish horror star Paul Naschy with a lost-in-translation name? I looked on IMDB and sure enough there it was, listed as an alternate title for 1973's VENGEANCE OF THE ZOMBIES. Mystery solved.

    SCORE:

This was in one of my recent lot purchases. For some reason I've seen this boring (and orange!) poster go for a decent price...and I have no idea why. I am fairly certain I saw this ages ago in the VHS era...and was bored. Radley Metzger fans probably know something I don't...or maybe I saw something else or an alternate version? Whatever...it's an ugly poster.

    COLOR ME DEAD:

Here is a lot poster I don't think i owned already. It's got an interesting title I don't think I was familiar with. However, I'm guessing this is more noir-ish/crime/detective than horror.

    ZAPPED:

What would a lot purchase be without a copy of ZAPPED stuck in it? Ugh. Scott Baio and Willie Aames star is one of the dumbest of teen comedies. Believe it or not, there was a ZAPPED 2 (that no one saw or remembers).

    KIDNAP SYNDICATE:

This lot poster I did not have already. James Mason stars in what looks like a Euro crime drama. I just looked it up...it's from Italy from 1975...and is apparently based on a true story.

    YELLOWBEARD:

I remember seeing this flick back in the day...and being disappointed. I'm sure it may be a fine film. However, when I saw it, I remember being delighted by the MONTY PYTHON connections to the film (co-written by and starring Graham Chapman, with Eric Idle and John Cleese). I was expecting it to be MONTY PYTHON-esque...and it wasn't. What it was...I don't recall. I just remember being bummed out by the non-MONTY PYTHON-ness of it all.  The poster was part of a lot purchase, of course. Using the top of a bald head as a map was amusing. Beyond that, there's not much to say about the image. Great cast though...

    HOME MOVIES:

When I was looking through the junk...er, fine art posters that made up the auction lots I had purchased, I came upon this. HOME MOVIES? Never heard of it...but it's by Brian DePalma? Huh? An it's a comedy? It stars Nancy Allen, Kirk Douglas, Vincent Gardenia, Garrit Graham? What? That it also starred Kieth Gordon made me realize this must have been fairly close to DRESSED TO KILL, but this flick? Pino Donaggio did the score? HOW did I miss it? I guess something good DID come from the lots I purchased. I learned this film exists. It apparently was a big flop-a-rama though. IMDB says its budget was $400,000 and it made $89,134. THAT'S how I missed it...

YOUNG HANNAH - QUEEN OF THE VAMPIRES:

This is also known as CRYPT OF THE LIVING DEAD and I am reasonably sure I have copies of the posters for both titles. (Although the poster of CRYPT OF THE LIVING DEAD is better, I think. The cartoon dialogue bubbles with the bad puns really sinks this version.) Andrew Prine and Mark Damon star.

    FROZEN ALIVE:

Oh, this movie is painfully bad. UGH! The poster is decent and is the best thing about the movie probably. Really. Staring a Swanson's frozen dinner might be just as interesting... (But the poster is nice).

    BLUEBEARD'S 10 HONEYMOONS:

When I first saw another copy of the poster, I was fascinated. I had to have it, even though I had only learned of the film's existence at that moment. The copy I got then was not is great shape. Even though I have yet to see this flick, I am thrilled to have this copy of the poster. It looks fantastic. Another lot buy ...but I'm happy with this poster. Starring George Sanders, this one was apparently directed by Billy Wilder's brother and written by his nephew. And based on the real "Bluebeard" (Henri-Desire Landru) who killed about 18 women between 1914 and 1918. EEK!

And thus you have survived one more bout of lot poster purchases. O' the joy... Do you think you can stomach another batch? Do you have guts of steel? I've got one more batch o' lot posters left to post. Most of them are bottom of the barrel nothings (and know that there are still others that will not see the light of day on my posts. EEK!). Come back...if you are brave enough.

See you then. Thank you for visiting.

    CHEERS!

  • Great stuff, keep 'em coming.

    Peter
  • Another interesting batch-o-stuff.  :) I don't remember Yellowbeard, but I do remember having those same where's the Python feelings about The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, which after peeking at IMDB, seemed to only have 2 members anyway. It'd be interesting to know how Graham Chapman got Cheech and Chong to be in Yellowbeard. With regards to Zapped, it does star Baio and Aames (boooooo), but it does also have Heather Thomas (schwing) and Scatman Crothers (yay!).
