Not seen in auction, this poster from 1935 needed a lot of work. Heavy toning, stains, tape and paper loss. This restoration was very successful in bringing pack a poster that was decaying away.
Today’s restoration, note before picture paper loss, toning, and heavy fold lines. The after shows if fully restored using conservation techniques, following the path.
Latest restoration. This poster had heavy fold lines, and paper loss, and the early stages of toning. After a submersion in the bath, some paper matching and fill, and touch up, it is back to its original rare glory.
This will be my final post in this section. I am thankful for the support I have received in my quest to learn linen backing process. The path is very helpful, and my own process improvements philosophy has helped me achieve my goals. Thanks Charlie!
