thanks a lot for sharing this article. It really makes interesting reading. To think that someone offered 10,000$ on ebay. Later jumping to 100k $ is fascinating. Oh boy.

Yup. A lot of vultures about. It was probably a poster dealer that was looking for a quick flip..

Your welcome Rosa! And to think some people might have accepted 10K. Good on them for sticking it out.
For me the morale of the story is if you ever get the opportunity to climb into the ceiling of a heritage cinema....take it !
Seems extraordinary to me that there is not one Australian poster in the upcoming Signature auction. What do you all think about that? Heritage has some incredible posters in every signature auction but how come they don't seem to ever get any significant Australian material of late? The exchange rate would surely favour consignors at the moment.
Exchange rate is fine, but to send any piece across there one has to insure it, one has to pay the postage, then deduct the 25% (?) selling fee.
Unless it is an amazing title then perhaps the reality is good Australian paper is not that popular in the US, perhaps because most paper is likely to be chased by Australians who then have to pay the exchange rate which is unfavorable for buyers at the moment; add in the Buyer's Premium (19.5%), then add the USD$ cost of the postage, the USD$ cost of insurance and then if over AUD$1K (about $USD$700) then add the Customs duty.

It's been bloody quite everywhere in terms of significant Australian material turning up. Nothing from auction houses, dealers and private collectors. I have had the quietest year so far ever since I started collecting! Hopefully it picks up!
Ahh Daveo, no sarcasm mate. I genuinely found the cheeky Canadians comment very funny..
Like I said, I am not a very smart guy (I barely can feed myself soup with my fork), 'cause I am not sure how cheeky it was, afterall I doubt any other movie poser auction house anywhere in the world has had the value or rareity of Australian paper up for grabs in one auction as BIDLL has had.

Just think how much money your are saving for BIDLL's next major event...
