Ah! Finally got 348 - in my mind I was thinking The Woman In White...but that got me nowhere with searches, so then found The Woman In Black (2013). All the clues were there!

I'd say it was so they had a wider audience to view the film in it's initial release, same reason why there was a PG rated version of Saturday Night Fever released after the first release to get a younger audience, who wanted to see it, but couldn't…

When I first came across the B&W cards I thought they were just limited photograph versions that someone had done, it wasn't until much later I found out they were actual Australian 'lobby cards'. Nothing like the quality of the US versions.
I wish I had some!242 looks familiarAha! I was thinking Harold Lloyd originally but looks like it's Whoopee! (1930) - with Eddie Cantor.C2 - Annie Get Your Gun (1946)?And odd that it seems to have been printed specially for the Australian Two cinema. My first thought on C661 was White Heat (1949) because of the rear projection gasometers in the background, so I did a bit of searching and that looks like it.Hmmm... putting my thinking cap on.I'm curious to know what processes were used.Love those new images!I always wondered about Australian lobby cards of that era. Whereas lobby cards from the US were a…C3 is Artists and Models (1955). Martin and Lewis directed by Frank Tashlin. I think I know C1 as well but will wait for others to chip in.Hopefully there may be some more long stashed hordes of posters unearthed. That's more up my alley!Lovely stuff!242 is Mysterious Island (1961). Very sneaky of you!243 is The Mysterious Island (1929). An early 2 colour technicolor film (hence my interest). An almost complete colour version was found a few years ago in a Czech archive - but no word on whether it's being restored. The B/W version is available on…Can I have a go at 243? Or wait a bit? Thanks, War films are not my specialty unfortunately, but I do try.I think you'e right about posters being dumped, I'm sure that was the fate of many of them.Did Mijanou have much of a career?I know what 243 is, but I'll give someone else a go. And I know what you're up to!241 must be the lesser known one - Dark Star (1974) - very recognisable shot to me.Any updates on older Australian films is much appreciated.I was doing searches for Brigitte Bardot and found her sister, that's hilarious that they had the audacity to do it.
