Did Mijanou have much of a career?
-
I know what 243 is, but I'll give someone else a go. And I know what you're up to!
-
241 must be the lesser known one - Dark Star (1974) - very recognisable shot to me.
-
Any updates on older Australian films is much appreciated.

I was doing searches for Brigitte Bardot and found her sister, that's hilarious that they had the audacity to do it.
-
Just stumbled upon who it is...and why she was drawn to resemble Brigitte Bardot, but I'll leave it up to you to explain who it is. The cunning powers of marketing!
-
And here's another image of her from a later Blake Films release...

I think in a lot of those cases of bad artwork on poorly drawn posters it's a matter of "just draw a poster for me before you go on your lunch break". Very little time allocated to the design and execution of the designs. It really looks like they w…

Brigitte Bardot?
-
My only thought is Zsa Zsa Gabor, which shows how much I know!
-
Ah, that narrows it down! Looks like Confederate soldiers....so, is it They Won't Forget (1937)?
-
Is it Inherit The Wind 1960?
-
They're all lovely posters, great seeing them all in one place.
-
No idea from me!
-
An actual photo used on the poster...I expect the Christmas party at Regent films was cancelled that year to make up for the printing costs!

(Quote) Could it be because most display cases outside cinemas were designed for vertical posters and the occasional horizontal poster would have to be displayed in a special way? I imagine the horizontal posters would have been less popular …

Love that film!

343 - Wolfen (1981). Recent horror is not my strong suit, but for some reason Wolfen popped into my head for the image in 344, then I went searching for images from Wolfen and found the other one!
-
Great pics, I have a director friend who held the rights to remake this for many years but nothing ever came of it.
-
I've seen that image before, but not sure I've seen the film.
-
No proof whatsoever, but that's exactly the style of poster that process creates, we used to do it at school. I'm still in touch with my old art teacher from school, I'll ask him next time I see him.
-
(Quote) The difference I see (with my limited knowledge of the printing processes) is:
For a start, they all had smaller budgets to distribute than the larger distributors, so less time would have been spent on making artwork. Perh… -
Is 238 Flight To Mars 1951?
-
Great document, very rare.
-
It's a pity there aren't more surviving Australian films from that era, and their artwork.
-
I'm not good with War films, and I don't think I've ever seen it - but is 451 "Objective Burma 1945? The name came into my head when I saw the image.
-
Obviously it's a format a creative poster artist could use from time to time to make an eye catching pice of artwork, the Ben Hur was done that way to show off the Colosseum, although I'm surprised the chariots were made so small, they would have wo…

Well done!
-
To me it looks like Nov 10 is on the top poster but covered by a white substance, perhaps to obscure the date so it reads only "Saturday" I'd suggest they're the same poster.
-
Yes, that one looks better than the two above which were what I was referring to.
