Found this daybill image with a new printer's name on it. On researching the name Evening Post Print I have come to the conclusion the daybill was a New Zealnd printed daybill for distribution in N. Z. The Evening Post was an afternoon metropolitan daily newspaper based in Wellington, N Z. and operated between 1865 & 2002.The only reason I am posting this image and my conclusion is for people to know it is N,Z. and not Australian poster.
You'll open up a can o' worms if you start on NZ printed posters, here's one printed by the Star Office Auckland - the Auckland Star was an evening paper.
Add to W.. Schey Poster Co. & W. F. Schey Pty. Ltd. - William F. Schey . Pty.Ltd. Sydney.
Some interesting facts. William F. Schey and Harold Rogers in the 1950s and 1960s designed and produced some fantastic Qantas travel posters. There seems to have been quite a few produced by them. I also found this - '' William F. Schey made picture posters & 24 sheet billboard posters in Australia''. Not sure if film posters were included in the 24 sheet output or not.
The entry on the master list shown as Royaltone Prints Pty.Ltd. has been spelt incorrectly. The correct spelling is as above - Royelltone Prints Pty. Limited. We just need the master list altered. Nice one to spot that Ves.
Easy mistake...when I first saw The Jackals, I thought it was spelt with an a, it wasn't until I saw the For Love of Ivy, I thought...hang on a minutes...
There is already a Posters Pty Ltd on our master list but I have found an RKO daybill poster from 1934 with only Posters Ltd on it to be added to the master list also.
Whoever submitted Posters Pty Ltd might be as kind as to let us know if this information comes from around the same period to confirm it would be the one in the same?
This is the daybill with the Posters Ltd. credit on it from 1934. A huge story in its day and a very sad one for the quintuplets in later life. If one goes into the web and searches the Dionne Qinntuplets it will bring up lots of information. It is indeed an interesting story to read.
Is it possible that Posters Pty Ltd was either part of M.A.P.S or was the forerunner and became M.A.P.S. I picked up a lot of posters from someone who worked at M.A.P.S decades ago and there quite a few that had were printed with the former's name.
