As mentioned previously I am not very good with computers but usually get by and am always eager to learn. I have already learnt a considerable amount since becoming a member of this forum and thanks to all those that have helped me during my time here.
By drop box I meant a box that drops down from above the ''Leave a comment'' sectiom that has the wording '' Drop image / file '' then under this ''or ( blank space in this area ) Browse ''. This box always appeared in the past and still does on new threads started but when one attempts to post an image on a previous listed thread it doesn't appear a lot of the times attempted. What I get a lot is a small blank area box which is to apparently to do with URLs. Sorry but this is the best I can do to try and explain the problem and hopefully it does?
Ahh...ok, commonly referred to as a dropdown box. Dropbox is this
For those technically minded, when the setting for the thread is to NOT allow image upload then you ONLY get the URL option, when it DOES allow image upload then you have the option of one or the other.
However, it is our (Admin) preference that you use the hotlink option (URL, posting images from say, Photobucket) as we Admin are but humble Egyptian forum owners and uploading images onto the server affects our poster spending money...
Is there any way we can work to update this thread with date ranges of when the printers were operating AND details on which studio they printed for if known?
I'm trying to piece all the information together from threads and emails, but it's a hard slog as I am finding it hard to find the information I know is in here!

I would be more than interested in hearing from anyone regarding Ves's request. For me personally it is too big a task at present to tackle and not enough time or desire to list it all here. Ves and a few others know where to contact me with any individual queries. For others that like to use the forum don't forget my thread ''Hondo's Daybill Q. & A.'' ( Re-titled ) is always open for questions, and I look forward to receiving them.
A lot of the information Ves is seeking has already been supplied throughout many threads across this forum and a little detective work should locate it. The remaining information not previously divulged regarding film distributors resides in my head, or in information that I have compiled over many years that I have on file, or that I have access to research at any time. As previously mentioned earlier on in my reply here, I am eager to be asked questions regarding Australian daybills and any other poster sizes or anything else regarding Australian film history including any film distributors, film release dates, posters in establishing first release 35mm & 16mm ( limited ) and re-release dates ( where known ), or anything else.
When I originally searched for Trodel & Cooper Pty. Ltd. it came up blank. After I had posted that this printer hadn't been mentioned on this thread I then found them clearly mentioned on page four. Odd.

Huge task if one wants it to be accurate.
In the meantime more printers to be made aware of -

UPDATE
In 1938 Offset Printing Co. Pty. Ltd. acquired the business of
R.G.W. Hackett and A.E.Oates. After this both Offset Printing Co.Pty.Ltd.and
Hackett Offset Printing Co., both continued to design and to print Australian
posters as two individual companies.
Ronald Gordon William Hackett was to become the managing
director of Offset.
In at least 195I both companies were listed as being at 169
Phillip Street, Waterloo in Sydney.
Hackett discontinued printing posters under that name in circa
1941, with Offset continuing on doing so until circa 1958. An odd exception produced under the Hackett name was an Australian 3 sheet printed for
Universal-International in 1952 titled Lost In Alaska.
To update here some information that I have included previously on the Chromo Print thread.
Chromo Print as we know operated from 1957 to
early 1960. It has always been assumed that they ceased producing film posters
there after. This wasn't the case though, as in actual fact
Chromoprint Pty. Limited just changed their trading name to Advertising And
Commercial Printers Pty. Limited ( a. k. a. A & C ) in 1960. Name actually spelt as one word not two on official notification. They
then traded under this name and continued printing film posters until mid 1963 when they folded up operations
altogether and ceased trading.
The Swift Printing Company was first registered as a business on September 14th 1903 by Frederick Lionel Pratt. The nature of the business was registered as "Printer" and their place of business was 3 Jamieson Lane Sydney.

But we are lazy posters...and money poor buyers...less money in your pockets is better for us!
I kid, I kid...

Once the list is complete start adding dates they printed from e.g.
W.E. Smith (1920s - 1960)
Film companies can then be included, although you would need annotations regarding specific periods if they had a stop / start relationship.
W.E. Smith (1920s - 1960) Paramount, 20th Century Fox ...
I am (slowly) going through the threads and putting together what I can find...
A&C (1959 - 1962) Warner Bros
Royaltone (1967 - 1968) 20th Century Fox
